25.01.2022 Come along and have some fun with your family and friends
25.01.2022 It is always a pleasure and very interesting topics that Dr Christian Rowan talks on when he visits the club's dinner evening. Again our thanks to Christian for sharing his Medical Experiences with us.
24.01.2022 Good evening, firstly as President I wish to offer my thanks and apologies to all who came along to the Pool party and to those who had planned to come along. Due to the massive storm hit we lost many marquees and there a lot of debris around so for reasons of safety we had to call the event off. The gold coin donations collected will be used towards another event we will plan early in the New Year [watch this page and The Local Bulletin] and the raffle prizes will be for this day. The MMC Lions club thank you all for your support and understanding and we hope to see you back for the next event. Planning starts next Tuesday... Thank you Steve Rainbow President MMC Lions Club.

23.01.2022 I have seen nothing about this earthquake in the news here EARTHQUAKE PHOTOS. Please friends - if you take photos and post on Facebook can you link permission ...for some of them to be used by the media - its not for money, but will help the world news to get onto providing assistance - here in Australia the story is barely mentioned but media wants permission to use some pictures so they can put the stories out. Thankyou for ALL the photos - but our media cannot use them unless the express permission is given by the actual photographer. See more

20.01.2022 March 2017 Heriitage Bank Ipsich 100 Bike Ride Cyclists old and young, I hope youve been training. MMC Lions charity bike ride, the Heritage Bank Ipswich100 pedals off on Sunday 23 April, with all courses starting and finishing at University of Southern Qlds Ipswich campus. This year, the 18th running of the ride, were aiming to attract more riders to the 25km and 5km courses, the latter a special course on the university grounds for younger kids and their parents. The 2...5km course, Ipswich to Walloon and back, is ideal for beginner cyclists and older children. We ask that children under 16 years carry a consent form signed by a parent or guardian and those under 11 should be accompanied. There are no restrictions on the 5km ride. Both rides are being run by the 24/7 Cycling Safety Fund which is developing a cyclist training centre in Ipswich and is one of the Ipswich100 beneficiaries, along with event partners, the Ipswich Hospital Foundation, and Mens Shed, McIntyre Centre RFD, Team Cupcake and other local charities and Lions projects. Visit Ipswich100.com to register on line, and like us on Facebook. Moggill Families branch club update MMC Lion, Jennifer Creese, is unfazed by weather washouts and other setbacks and plans to set up a Moggill Families Branch Club of MMC Lions for community members who have been unable to join Lions due to family or work commitments. Jennifer and other MMC Lions will be at the Mt Crosby State School Twilight Carnival of Saturday 18 March and will be promoting the Moggill Families club and the Heritage Bank Ipswich100. The new club aims to attract members by meeting at more family-friendly times and working on new community projects or the clubs existing tasks. Rescheduled Community Function MMC Lions hoped to be part of the community function at Bellbowrie pool last month, to replace the washed-out event before Christmas. Circumstances dictated otherwise and we are flat out now working on the Ipswich100. We hope to plan something later in the year when things quieten down. New Lions I was very pleased to induct Pam Finch as a new Lion in February, our fifth woman member and our sixth new Lion to join or transfer to the club since late last year. A warm welcome to Pam and I hope we will have another new member shortly. While we also have lost long-serving Lions to well-earned retirement, a club with renewed membership is a club well-placed for the future. We Serve.... Steve Rainbow President MMC LIons

18.01.2022 1200kms for Kids over for the year, Steve Rainbow[MMC Lions Member] participated and personally managed to raise $12450.00 and the total we raised to give away to our beneficiaries was just over $90,000.00. Not a bad effort for a core team of 10 riders and 8 crew with some day riders making up the numbers too. Thanks to MMC Lions and Ipswich Lions for their generous donations to help me help the kids along the way.

15.01.2022 Great to be part of the small team who flew the flag at the Mt Crosby State School Festival Day. Our job to collect the gold coin donation went well and although a long 4 hours we did a great job. Even helped with a medical event watching the patient for a while and directing the ambulance in and out. Thanks to Dr Joyce Arnold, Jennifer, Katrina who were on the Stand promoting the Club and the Family Group and to Graham Smith, David Clark, Freddo, Pam, and back up Lady Lion Denice. Quite a few brochures were handed out and a few pages of contacts to follow up. We also had on the stand a road bike, a jersey display and bike ride flyers. Thanks again to those who made the event, President Steve.
