25.01.2022 We've had a fantastic 3 days to start our U6-U8 Nippers program. Lots of fun had by over 70 little smiling Nippers each day. A big thanks to all who volunteered to help and enabled our Nippers to have such a fun and safe start to their Nippers program this season - looking forward to seeing our U9-U13 Nippers next week!

One exciting project they have underway is building the new Presbyterian Church in Mornington. Below is a photo of Steve and Nick with the beautiful Rammed Earth Walls. The Roof Trusses are of a similar design to the Lifesaving Club’s. The structure has been designed by WKH Architects, our very own Steve Hofer who is also a sponsor of the Club! And they have strong connec...tions to the Club with our carpentry team: Tim O’Sullivan Iceberger, Brady Jack - Leanne and Jamie’s son and Calum Cook Phil and Jodie’s ‘nephew-in-law' Nick would love to hear from any member that would like to use their building services. 16.01.2022 We are delighted to announce that Mount Martha Life Saving Club was today recognised as being an outstanding contributor to educating the community about life saving in Victoria. Tonight Life Saving Victoria held their Annual Awards of Excellence and we won the Community Education Award for our Schools Program. Some of you may not be aware that this program has been running for over 20 years and in the most recent 2019-2020 season we had 27 schools and over 3,900 school stude...nts participate in the program on Mount Martha beach and in the clubhouse, where primary & secondary school children were educated about water safety and surf awareness. This is a great initiative of life saving being proactive in educating the community, rather than being used only for rescue situations. Additionally it was great that we could offer jobs to 18 local lifeguards to participate and deliver the program. Hopefully you can feel proud that the club that you’re a member of is making an impact in the community. Congratulations to all involved. See more

15.01.2022 What a great 3 days we had this week with our U6-U8 Nippers. Great weather and great helpers especially our SRCs and BMs who provided water safety and lots of fun! We even had a visit from the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.

08.01.2022 We are delighted to announce that our Schools Program has been nominated for the Community Education Award at the 2020 LSV Awards of Excellence. Co-ordinated by Leah Andrews and supported by a group of our qualified lifesavers we have been providing this successful Program to our local and further afield community for over 20 years. Run during school terms 1 & 4 plus summer holidays with other groups such as Scouts, swim schools and camps attending, our program is fully booked out a year in advance. Good luck to our team and all nominees in all categories.

01.01.2022 MMLSC is ecstatic to congratulate club member Rhys Cole on being awarded Victorian Lifesaver of the Year! Rhys has served as both an active member of Pt Leo SLSC and Mount Martha LSC and has contributed to both clubs significantly over many years. Rhys received this prestigious & highly contested award for the 2019/20 season for his ongoing efforts as a patrol member, coach, radio captain, competitor and crew member of the Westpac helicopter rescue team. Winning this award comes on the back of winning the open age section of Coolangatta Gold in 2019. We wish Rhys well in his future lifesaving endeavours, he has a bright future ahead of him! #lsvaoe2020
