24.01.2022 It's Monday, It's nearly June. It's nearly halfway through 2021. If that freaks you out a bit, here's a good exercise we did recently with @joshphegan that helped to give us all a bit more clarity and focus. Warning - it may be a bit confronting (it was for us!) Make sure to save it for later so you can come back to it So first question. It's a bit of a personal question, but how old are you? - you don't have to tell us but write it down on a piece of paper.... Now 25 years. Write that down too! How does that make you feel? Now, where do you want to be by the time you get to that number? What do you want to have achieved? You'll probably start getting visions in your mind. It might be a career change, it may be an investment property, it may be getting a larger house and expanding the family, or it may be down-sizing and consolidating what you have. Whatever it is, write down what you see. What is success to you? What do you want to achieve in 25 years? Now that you have a vision of what you want to achieve. How do you achieve it? Look at the list of what you envisioned. Break each item down into steps to achieve them. If you are looking for a career change, it could be speaking with a career specialist, training, work experience, and job hunting. If it is financial stability, then maybe you want to look at consolidating and paying off debt, looking at options to gain a passive income, or working out how you can earn more now. If you want to purchase an investment property, maybe you need to review your budget so you can put more aside, talk to a mortgage broker and get your deposit ready. There is no right or wrong answer, and things will change but having a more firm idea of what you are wanting to achieve in 25 years will help you to make sure your efforts today, this month, this year etc are all aimed at helping to get you to where you want to be in 25 years time.
