25.01.2022 We had so much fun, we decided to play trains again, on a very sunny autumn day https://youtu.be/NqYQgD3t7Ig
24.01.2022 Some more videos of the post covid19 first meeting. https://youtu.be/UqDQ1Waeb8Q
24.01.2022 Trying to make some cab view videos and learning the hard way that trying to control eight locos by yourself as well as making a cab view video at the same time, can lead to some problems. As Homer would say DOH!!!!!!!! As I said before, I didn't realise how much I swear (the swearing part of the video was deleted)

19.01.2022 First club meeting since the restrictions were put in place back in.......can't remember......anyway, good turn out with 70% of the membership there running their trains, and what acollection it was.
17.01.2022 Old layout has been now totally dismantled All that is left are the basboards which, when the maintenance work has been done on the room, will be rearranged to fit the new basboard design.

16.01.2022 So where do we go to now? Here's the first draft of the proposed new club layout, comments are more than welcome.
16.01.2022 First run on the 'completed' (tongue-in-cheek) layout, the ICE 3 as well as the VT 11.5 'Helvetia' Sorry about the sudden end, had a seniors moment where my finger accidently brushed the stop button
13.01.2022 The club was very lucky in acquiring a vintage M track layout. We thank Fiona and her husband for the unbelievable donation of this layout. It will reside in our 'Z Gauge Room' in the memory of Norbert Wadas, the gentleman that constructed the layout originally. A plaque will be made in honour of Norbert and placed on the layout. Not only was the layout donated, so was all the running locos, passenger and rolling stock as well, and now they are all club property.... This makes a couple of our older members very happy as it is a total analogue layout, once refurbished and in going order, they will have a great time running their analogue trains. Again, many thanks to Fiona and her husband.

03.01.2022 Now you see it, now you don't One last final run on the club layout and then the dismantlers arrived. We began at about 10:30 am and by 3:00 pm we were back to where we began quite a few years ago... Why did we do it? Many reasons, main ones being that the layout was too "busy", it had too many levels, with the club catch cry being "wheres my loco?", you couldn't get from the mainline to the secondary line without doing too much 'hand' shunting. The scenery would have been very challenging (not that we don't mind a good challeng) and would have hidden a lot of the track work. And to be realistic the baseboard layout, although looking good on paper (and me pushing it like crazy.......OK, I was wrong), was a real bugbear to get around. It was totally useless for public viewing as well, and with our 50th coming up, we are aiming to have an open house. So back to the drawing board, a preliminary layout has been designed, it just needs some fine tuning, and will be more accessible and lend its' self far better for public viewing. We will post the new design once we're happy with it Off to the before and after photos (video to follow on another post as this stupid facebook won't allow both at the same time)
