22.01.2022 Last night the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle hosted a movie night at Events Cinemas, Kotara to spotlight the 6,000 plus volunteers, who in partnership with our clergy and staff provide an outpouring of support. It is inspiring, and powerful to reflect on our many thousands of volunteers who come together, ooze a sense of community, generosity, selflessness, and concern for others. Thanks to you incredible people, for helping every day. #NationalVolunteerWeek

21.01.2022 2020 HSC Examination results have, again, been very rewarding for St Clare's High School, Taree students. The cohort of 70 students was rewarded with 13 Band 6 and 71 Band 5 grades with outstanding results in Community and Family Studies; Drama; English Extension 1; Industrial Technology (Timber); Mathematics Extension 2; Mathematics Standard 2; Physics and Visual Arts. "Congratulations to our HSC class of 2020 on their excellent results which are a fitting reflection of their efforts and dedication to their studies during a year of great upheaval and change," Mr Nicholls said.

18.01.2022 What a year! The CSO virtual academy recently acknowledged and celebrated our gifted students via an online stage. This provided students with the opportunity to discuss their learning and their work with a group of industry leaders who acted as panel members and shared their own expertise. The Virtual Academy continues to grow and cater for our gifted students into 2021.

02.01.2022 The first step in mending any relationship is apologising for causing hurt. Saying sorry - and demonstrating that you mean it - is vital for friendships to continue to grow and become strong. The students at St Mary’s Primary School in Warners Bay demonstrated this commitment on Sorry Day, Wednesday 26th May, by standing together in the colours of the Aboriginal flag to recognise and apologise for injustices that have been done to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly for the pain inflicted on the Stolen Generations. The theme of Reconciliation Week 2021 is ‘More than a word’, and we hope that this simple act of apology can help to initiate healing so all Australians can move forward together. #sorryday

02.01.2022 Despite all the challenges faced, Josie Witherdin embodied her school motto 'strength in difficulties' achieving a band six in all her subjects and an ATAR of 99.3. After achieving this tremendous result, UNSW offered her a AAA scholarship to study a Bachelor of Art and International Studies. After all the good news, Josie was still keen to point out the support she had received from her school community throughout the year, saying that the staff at St Joseph's College, Loch...invar had provided great encouragement with her studies, as well as personal backing when her father passed away. A bright teen, who has displayed resilience beyond her years.
