20.01.2022 After a long and hard fought campaign by the #disability #advocacy sector, including our sister service Disability Advocacy NSW, we are relieved by the announcement that disability advocacy will be funded for the next three years, and that the government has demonstrated its commitment to independent advocacy. This ends more than 3 years of funding uncertainty. This funding will work towards guaranteeing the future of independent advocacy in NSW, ensuring that people with a disability will continue to have access to a voice and support when they need it most. 08.01.2022 Always Was, Always Will Be. NAIDOC 2020 celebrates and recognises the fact that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for more than 65,000 years. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. Australia has the world’s oldest oral stories. The First Peoples engraved the world’s fi...rst maps, made the earliest paintings of ceremony and invented unique technologies. We are proud to share the spirit of this year’s NAIDOC celebrations and embrace the expansive history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. #NAIDOC2020
