20.01.2022 We need your help! The Minister for the NDIS Stuart Robert is rushing through huge changes to NDIS assessments. But hes doing it without talking to people with MND or other disabilities and their families first. Can you take the time to ask him six simple questions about what the changes actually mean for everyone? https://everyaustraliancounts.com.au/questions-for-minist/
20.01.2022 Thanks so much to Tayla for going Booze Free for MND in July and smashing her fundraising target! Incredible effort
20.01.2022 A huge thank you to SCIS Property Group whove taken on the challenge to run or walk 100km during September. One of their staff members lost his dad to MND and now his colleagues are helping to raise awareness and funds for us in his honour. Amazing effort guys! Check out their fundraising page (and maybe even give them a cheeky donation) here: https://www.mycause.com.au//scis-group-challenge-to-dfeet-

16.01.2022 It's heartbreaking to think of a 19-year-old being faced with an MND diagnosis. But that's what happened to Elliot. It started with his simple need to take the elevator over climbing a flight of stairs, or clumsily falling over. ... But Elliot's condition progressed rapidly and without warning. He bravely fought on for 8 months before losing his battle at just 19 years of age. Read Elliot's story here: https://mndnsw.asn.au//255-june-2/1557-elliot-s-story.html Elliot's story is an important example of why we do what we do - and why we've been there for people facing MND for the past 40 years. Thanks to your support, we'll continue to be there for as long as people like Elliot need us. #MND #ALS #support #MNDNSW40 #40years #winterappeal #MNDjourney #mndstory
16.01.2022 For everyone in the ACT! Grilld Woden has chosen us as one of their community groups theyre supporting for the whole of this month! All you have to do, is go and buy a delicious (and healthy) burger and youll get a token to put into the jar of your choice (make sure you choose MND NSW ). Then at the end of the month, money is split between the three charitieswith first place taking away the chunk of funds meaning we definitely need your help getting as many tokens as we can in our jar! Its the perfect excuse for take away which is just the ticket in these current times were living in. https://www.grilld.com.au//australian-capit/canberra/woden

14.01.2022 We'd like to say a big THANKYOU to all those who organised and attended Dale's Day in Taylors Arm recently. Over $8,000 was raised from raffle tickets and donations from the event, which will be a big help for supporting people living with MND. The cricket day saw a nailbiter match with Newcastle taking the win on the second last ball from Taylors Arm. Aside from the cricket match, there was plenty of fun and festivities with pinatas, a Finska competition, and a dress-up box... and games for the kids. And the day wasn't complete without a good feed - a pig on the spit, beef and some delicious homemade soups and salads were also donated for the event. #dalesday #cricket #thankyou #MND

10.01.2022 Whats a Virtual Walk? Even though we cant be together this year, we still want everyone to have fun, doing a Walk. Thats why we have created the Virtual Walk or Mini-Walks. A Virtual WALK is a mini Walk that you can do at home with family and friends whilst observing all the Covid restrictions. It s an online fundraising platform that allows people to register and hold their own WALK in their chosen area while still raising money to support people living with MND. Youre ...in control of where your Walk goes and who Walks with you. Its as easy as Walking around the block. And so that we still have that feeling of participation and community, we are holding all the mini walks on the same day. Sunday October 18. We will have an official start at 10am live on facebook. Weve also got a great new T-shirt and the team leaders will receive a fun box filled with lots of goodies for the day of your Walk. Organise your Mini-Walk in your area and register today: https://virtual.walktodfeet.org.au/ See more

05.01.2022 We want to give a shout out to Ted Butler who is raising money to cut his hair in honour of his good mate and surfing buddy, Steve. My challenge in this fundraiser is that at the end of 8 weeks from commencement I will have my hair cut SHORT!!! he said. I realise that this is a very small gesture but its my way of drawing attention to the serious indiscriminate affect that Motor Neurone Disease can have on a persons life. You can check out his fundraising page and support him here: https://personalchallenge.gofundraise.com.au/p/Ted-63452661

02.01.2022 One day, motor neurone disease will take everything from Sharon. Until then please help her make the most of life. Sharon has already lost the ability to walk, to cook, and spends most of her day in a wheelchair. As MND progresses so quickly access to the right equipment without delay helps Sharon and other members with MND retain their independence for longer. https://donate.mndnsw.asn.au/donate/christmas
02.01.2022 At the moment, families and friends are physically divided which is why we wanted to bring everyone together with the Virtual Walk to dFeet. And recently we heard this amazing story from our supporter Hannah about how her family were walking together, apart. Hannahs dad was diagnosed with MND and lives with Hannahs step mum in NSWwhat now seems a world away from where Hannah and the rest of her family are living in Tassie. Because they cant be with each other due to Covid19 restrictions, theyve decided to register for the Virtual Walk so they can walk together and raise awareness about MNDeven if they are forced to be in different locations. Heres Hannahs boxer Gypsy modelling her bandanna for the walk . If you havent joined the Virtual Walk to dFeet you can now by heading to: https://virtual.walktodfeet.org.au
