The NSW Government has made important changes to Long Service Leave entitlements to assist during the COVID-19 outbreak. However, these changes only apply to employees who have completed 10 or more years of service in their jobs. What about employees who have completed less than 10 years of service?... The Long Service Leave Act (NSW) gives employees who have served in their job for more than 5 years, but less than 10 years, the right to a pro rata Long Service Leave payment in the event that they resign due to some necessity. That can include circumstances such as illness, incapacity or domestic or other pressing necessity.
