25.01.2022 CHICK TO FLEDGLING The pics below will give you an idea of what is a magpie chick who should still be in nest with mum(1st 3 pics) and a fledgling magpie, (pic 4,5,6) who is meant to be on the ground as they are leaning to become independent. If you see a fledgling on ground and it is not injured, please leave mum and dad to do the raising. Provide bowls of fresh water in this heat @n.e.v.a.a

20.01.2022 PLEASE, PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE: We understand how difficult unintentional Wildlife versus a can be, especially at night, but please if u hit a roo then do a quick pouch check. Contact your local Wildlife shelter for advice. Little Troodie was not sighted until the next day very frightened and cold. Thanks to the passer by who noticed her legs protruding from the pouch. Troodie now has a second chance.
19.01.2022 DISPLACED ROOS: Be mindful that Roos are currently displaced at present around logging area in Benalla Rd, between railway crossing and MV Hiway intersection. Due to heavy machinery and noise, the local mob have been pushed out and displaced around Benalla rd(near cop shop), Murray valley hiway toward Cobrawonga and rear of grain Elevators board. ... Be aware to slow down for fear of a Jumper. Had one displaced in Reilly’s road today. North East Victoria Animal Aid - NEVAA

13.01.2022 An adventure for FREDDO: He is now part of the wildlife bird of prey rehabilitation program at Beechworth Correctional centre where he will be trained in aggressive tactics and learn how to catch his own prey and survive independently. I have utilised the program with rescued birds of prey for many years and always to success. Upon completion of the training, Freddo will be returned for release as an independent Tawny frogmouth where he was found as a tiny orphaned chick. Many thanks to the Wildlife guys at Beechworth for their care and compassion

10.01.2022 CHEAP LABOUR: Only requires a bowl of seed for payment. All enquires to Moah’s Ark.
09.01.2022 If anyone should see Robert around Bundalong over the next few days. Please do not try to catch him. Please do not feed him. ... We would like him to continue visiting just one household to give us the best opportunity to net him. Any failed attempts to catch him will only result in him becoming more wary and harder to trap. Thanks for everyones calls and assistance to date.
09.01.2022 Our unique echidnas are on the move and showing up in the strangest places. This one went into a chook pen and decided the nesting box was an ideal hiding spot. Lots of new additions for Spring and get a birds eye view of a wombat pouch. Compliments of hazelnut. Be mindful it is fledgling time for some bird species. ... Please refer to previous posts on fledgling season do,s and dont,s. North East Victoria Animal Aid - NEVAA

09.01.2022 What to do if you find a FLEDGLING:
09.01.2022 Excitement is building! Please follow the event below and keep everything crossed that Moah’s Ark can bring home a much needed win!
08.01.2022 WHAT TO DO IF U FIND OCCUPIED NEST ON GROUND: If chicks are unharmed and nest not salvageable due to damage, utilise small ice cream container with dried grass or tissues in base and gently place chicks in. Secure to tree or shrub away from predators as close as practical to location found and mum will return to young. Any queries ring your local wildlife shelter. @NEVAA
08.01.2022 BE MINDFUL: This is the time of year to be mindful if you hit an adult. There maybe another life in the pouch. Mum was left to die a lonely demise whilst this little cherub was inside her pouch waiting for some loving that never came. Thanks to the early morning walker that lifted mum off the road and called me. At least he has now been given a second chance:... @n.e.v.a.a See more
07.01.2022 WHEN NOT TO INTERFERE Please check out what a fledgling looks like. They are on the ground at this size for a very good reason. As the Cocky’s are ground feeders, mum will be teaching young how to forage and gain independence. Birds generally do not fledge(fly) straight after leaving nest. Mum/dad are watching from afar. Please refrain from picking up young birds because they do not run away from u or can’t fly. This process of fledgling to Juvenile takes sometime. We al...l need L plates for a while. If you notice trauma such as inability to stand, wing dropped, heat exhaustion, obvious signs of injury, then contact your local wildlife shelter. @n.e.v.a.a
05.01.2022 WHAT A PRIVILEGE ITS BEEN: A progression of photos in the life of a wombat from bubs to Sub-adults. Gunna miss these 3 nuts. It has been an absolute honour and privilege to raise them . Thanks Fi for the opportunity. They all came into care as orphans during the fires, and extreme heat conditions. Ready for their final stage of care and soft release up in the Rose River area.... North East Victoria Animal Aid - NEVAA

04.01.2022 Celebrated the cup to hard
04.01.2022 Happy mums day from us to you:
03.01.2022 SPARE A THOUGHT: As humans we are fortunate to have AC, fans, pools, the river. etc to prevent heat exhaustion. Please support our native wildlife during this extreme heat with bowls of water, spray bottles, misters, sprinklers, or wet towels over outdoor cages. @n.e.v.a.a
01.01.2022 Spring has sprung so please be mindful that mums have bubs at present so keep a look out for any wildlife that may need assistance. Remember to allow fledglings to be on the ground with parents nearby. They are just on their Lplates and being taught to feed independently. If nocturnal species such as possums, gliders, owls, tawny frog mouths etc are out during daylight hours, there may be an issue so please contact your local wildlife carer for assistance. ... A little incentive to bring a smile to your face during these unprecedented times:
