13.01.2022 "Life after a miscarriage will never be the same as it was before." These words are all too true. And for many women who suffer a miscarriage, they are wonder...ing what this means for charting their cycles, as well as what they can expect to be normal in the weeks and months following their loss. Speaking from experience and research, one woman shares her tips for when and how to start charting again after miscarriage, how to tell what is and isn't normal, and whether or not it's recommended to wait to try and conceive again. This is valuable information that could truly help a woman as she navigates life after a miscarriage. Please share!

12.01.2022 What is this rally about? The manner in which the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - AHPRA is managing Homebirth Midwives is disgraceful. Marti...na Gorner from Ten Moons - Homebirth Services Melbourne, who was awarded The International Homebirth Midwife of the year Award in 2018, was unfairly treated over the last years and forced out after bullying and intimidation by AHPRA. A Homebirth Midwife should not have to face regulatory action for supporting womens choices, including women that choose care outside guidelines, which Martina has supported many of (VBAC, VBA2C, GDM- Gestational Diabetes, GBS positive, waters released > 4 days, >42 weeks, no scans and the list can go on). BECAUSE women have the right to make choices about their care. And this includes women who have risk factors! Taking care providers away puts the woman’s ‘freedom of choice’ under attack. Over the years there has been a massive decline in Homebirth Midwives because it’s become almost impossible for them to practice due to over-regulation, lack of insurance and heavy penalty’s for non-compliance with guidelines based on the ‘hospital’ model of care. Placing more and more restrictions and regulatory red tape on Homebirth Midwives is not a sustainable solution for our community and is in fact putting the community at risk! Women who will not be able to access a Homebirth Midwife, let alone the Homebirth Midwife of their choice, may go ahead with giving birth at home by themselves (Freebirth). Ultimately AHPRA’s role is to keep the public safe. We don’t need any more regulatory red tape! It’s time for AHPRA to work together with the community! a) To listen to women! Women should NOT have to compromise their values to to fit into the guidelines of a regulatory body!! Its their body, their baby, their birth, their choice. b) To support and protect homebirth midwives, NOT persecute and vilify them, because it is an essential service that supports women seeking alternative options to mainstream care. AHPRA have largely ignored our voices! There is no ‘body’ or ‘watchdog’ regulating AHPRA and keeping them accountable to meet the needs of ALL the public. They have become a law unto themselves! We are calling for a Royal Commission Greg Hunt MP, Dan Andrews, Jenny Mikakos MP to investigate AHPRA! Please come to the rally. Bring a friend, tell your neighbour. Share this post. This is your opportunity to voice your opinion. We are contacting major media outlets on this issue. We need to stand strong as a community for our rights.

03.01.2022 My best breastfeeding snd supply advice My best breastfeeding advice is, think about what you want your whole breastfeeding life to be like, if you will encou...rage weaning..or if it will be child led. And work your psychology, physiology, whatever it takes to make that vision come to life. Sometimes it's literally physical issuea. Sometimes mental...that could be anything from adrenal fatigue to over supply to aversions (so many different aversions)... I encourage you to absolutely have full faith and belief in your ability to provide and be aware that over supply can be a challenge even w out supplementation. W that said it's okay to get help or have it on reserve, especially when life gets really stressful. That way, even if you're not eating enough or whatever it is you always give yourself a booster to prevent drying up. No matter how much you're down, always give yourself that. Moringa is great and is also a form of birth control. Make tea w fresh or dried leaves, add to hot foods or to some herbal tea. High in vit c Fenugreek is amazing, it smells like maple syrup, lowers blood sugar Oatmeal(i recommend washing and soaking your rolled oats or groats) is fiborous and you can dress it up w ground fenugreek. Not a fan of oatmeal? Take your soaked oats and make some milk, that may give you a powerful boost of milk. Maybe you can make ice cubes. Oregano is often used in some cultures for a whole month after birth to encourage and establish milk supply. One of my favorite creations is a vegan or not vegan oregano ice cream made w fresh oregano steeped in coconut milk and sweetenes w dates, can add vanilla. Flax seed is a cheap and nutrious milk booster that can be ground and added to smoothies, oatmeal, bread, pancakes, ice cream, you name it.i recommend going whole and grinding before use. Brewer's yeast. I haven't used it myself for milk supply, but it ia really good for homemade brews and breads. Anise and fennel have a nice licorice flavor. You can chew fennel seeds for fresh breath as well as use them to make your own seasoning for Italian dishes, like alfredo. I'm sure the list goes on and on. Lol Water...lol Healthy fats. :)
