22.01.2022 Gosh it's been cold. Did you know that we see more hypothermic Guinea Pigs in June and July than at any other time of year. Guinea Pigs are tropical animals from central America so they need warmth. Keep them in at night and make sure they are dry and have plenty of thick straw bedding. Even the long haired variety can suffer. If you suspect your Guinea Pig is suffering from hypothermia then blast it with a warm hair dryier and give me a ring.

15.01.2022 I had an entruder when I was sleeping on my boat in Queenscliff Sat night. He ate my Tim Tams and an apple then left a calling card. DNA tests revealed it came from a ringtail possum. I didn't know they would attack by sea.

01.01.2022 I can't believe the number of cats I have seen lately with fight wounds or cat bite abscesses. This is the peak of the fighting season so please keep your cats in doors 24/7. Territorial feral tom cats will attack ANY cat which is not willing to mate with him day or night. Yes it sounds a bit misogynistic but this is the way of the domestic cat. If your cat has been outside and returns very grumpy, hiding behind the TV, not eating and the next day it is limping, chances are it has been in a fight. Your cat will need antibiotics urgently.
