23.01.2022 Today Rowena was invited to the National Press Club of Australia to listen to Nicola Forrest (AO - Co-Chair and Co-Founder of Minderoo) and Jay Weatherill (CEO of Thrive by Five). The Thrive by Five campaign continues to address the issues of accessibility, affordability and quality that those of us in the profession have been advocating for for many years, and it is calling on all Governments and policies makers to acknowledge that the current system is in need of urgent reform. To achieve this vision we need a highly qualified and appropriately remunerated workforce. https://thrivebyfive.org.au #pressclubaust

22.01.2022 Today we remember those who protect this great country.

21.01.2022 With a mix of sunshine and rain this week what better time could there be to think about rainbows. The children have been thinking about this natural beauty through music, yoga, story telling, mathematical concepts and a craft activity designed by one of our preschool children.

21.01.2022 As always Dr Red Ruby Scarlet does not fail to inspire, provoke and nourish our professional learning. We are looking forward to continuing to think about the arts as we work with Red Ruby Scarlet throughout 2021. A big thank you to the MOCCA team for your commitment to critical reflection and ongoing learning

16.01.2022 The number of outbreaks of gastro in ACT childcare centres last month were three times higher than average. Do your part to help prevent the spread of gastro. ... If your child is vomiting or has diarrhoea, keep them at home until 48 hours after their symptoms have stopped. Make sure everyone at home practises good hand hygiene to prevent the spread to other household members. For information, including tips for prevention, see our factsheet https://bit.ly/gastro-factsheet

12.01.2022 After a long 2020 without excursions it was great to be outside the gates again! Thank you to Ranger Tegan for taking us through the Jerrabomberra Wetlands and teaching us all about the natural habitats found so close to MOCCA.

04.01.2022 After much debate and discussion the preschool children have cast their vote for the climate change mural to be painted on Endeavour House! Thank you Nicki for helping the children see that they can be involved in making decisions about our community. This learning opportunity provided a focus on #voting #democracy #community #climatechange #murals #artseducation #careforcountry ... The winning vote was for ‘Hope’ - by the artist Fantasy Fabulous! We will include some of the children’s reasons in the comments below. The children are now inspired to create their own mural within our playground.

03.01.2022 Help MOCCA choose which artwork to vote for, or cast your own!! Endeavour House, called upon all local artists aged 16 years and above to help design a 12m x 32m mural wall on its prominent, external wall facing both traffic on Canberra Avenue and the main shopping precinct of Manuka. First Nations and People of Colour we warmly encouraged to apply. The theme for the mural is climate change, and was chosen by the tenant community of Endeavour House and the local traders withi...n Manuka shopping precinct. The theme of climate change was considered the most relevant and pressing issue facing our community. Stay tune to see which art work our children choose!!

02.01.2022 This #NAIDOC Week we have been reflecting on our vision for Reconciliation and how we can honour this year’s theme #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe within our classrooms, our centre and our community.
