23.01.2022 We would like to thank our hardworking leaders of our Macedonian Community Newcastle General Committee and Subcommittees for their contribution to todays spring cleaning of our Macedonian Cultural Centre and Macedonian Orthodox Church. Today's efforts were the start of the very exciting renovation program for our School Street Facility which we all call our second home. Stay tuned for more details in coming weeks for an outline of our Church renovation works, for which we see...k your moral and financial support. We congratulate each of you and your families on our Macedonian Orthodox Easter with much health and good wishes. ... Our St Mary's Parish was once again this morning bursting at the seams with a large, vibrant and rejoyceful congregation. We thank you all for being in attendence and keeping our Macedonian Orthodox Tradition alive in Newcastle. Our parishioners young and old all enjoyed the traditional cracking of the coloured eggs received as part of the service.

07.01.2022 We thank all of our parishioners who attended our Macedonian Christmas Eve service "Badnik" this evening, it was great to see all of the young children attending receive gift bags and families receive a traditional oak (Dab) branch prepared and supplied by our Macedonian Women’s group of St Mary. It was a beautiful service by our Priest Peco. Thank you to Silvana Stefanovski, who received the coin in the traditional bread last year, for preparing and baking this evening’s... round bread with the lucky coin inside. Congratulations and a year of good luck to Vera Goura for receiving the lucky coin in her piece of bread. Vera will now prepare and bake next year’s bread for Badnik with a lucky coin! 06.01.2022 Dear Macedonian Community, We are pleased to advise you all that our much needed renovation works has commenced with Stage 1 structural works completed last month with installation of internal roof cross bracing. Our candle boxes have been relocated to the church entry foyer to make space for our pews. We have also received delivery of our brand new church pews hand made to our requirements from a reputable pew manufacturer in Victoria. We can now commence with Stage 2 of our... construction program scheduled for February which will see the asbestos roof removed and replaced with a new colorbond roof. This will ensure that we do not leave an environmental hazard as a legacy for our next generations. Stage 3 of our church renovations will consist of installation of the cupola dome projecting through the roof. We are still in the planning phase with approval required from Council. Also part of this phase will be the curved ceiling and columns along side walls with a complete new paint and floor coverings. We will post architectural models of the Stage 3 works in coming weeks and seek community feedback. We would like to thank our general committee and sub committees, volunteers and supportive tradespeople for helping out with all the works. We will be seeking community donations and ongoing support in coming months towards our church project to ensure we have a beautiful church for the current and next generations of our community to enjoy for the next 50 years and beyond!
