20.01.2022 The Choice of power plant in our first C9000 30ft catamaran, the Steyr 6 cylinder diesel SE236E36 coupled to Mercury Bravo 3 sterndrives. Our client has chosen these engines based on the robust clever engineering & outstanding fuel burn. Consumption calculations are indicating a 1000km range at cruise speed which is hard for us to achieve with outboards. Well the new Sam Allen Wholesale Demo Boat is starting to come together quite well, and one of the key areas of an...y day/s on the water is seating and storage for all your gear. So lets take a look at the modifications we have made with the team at Moda Boats to create the ultimate Port and Starboard Seat Box setup! (well we think anyway ). We are going to go into a lot more detail once all the items are fitted, but for now its worth mentioning what we have chosen to fit it out with. Port Side Seat Box (Passenger Side) We are fitting a Waeco 30L Drawer Fridge (by Dometic), an Innovation Tackle Centre 2 Tray Tackle Locker, a Plaztek pull out storage drawer, and using high quality Gemlux Friction Hinges we create a large top opening rear storage hatch. On top of this is a low profile Relaxn Suspension seat base, with our new Relaxn Mako Series Seats atop. Starboard Side Seat Box (Drivers Side) This is where the overnighting comes into play utilising Gemlux Friction Hinges we create a large storage hatch to house a Gasmate Portable Burner and food preparation area. While we have also flush mounted an Innovation Tackle Centre 2 & a 4 Tray Tackle Locker, a brand new black 1kg fire extinguisher box, and modified the box with a cut away to accommodate the Shark Seating Flex Shock Mitigation System, with a super comfy Relaxn Mako Series atop - definitely the ultimate setup for any skipper! 18.01.2022 Over the past few months the team at Moda have been quietly working on a few new projects and focussing on company growth and continual improvement. To kick off we have now relocated to a much larger state of the art factory based in Tingalpa Brisbane. This enables us to increase production of our larger vessels while maintaining a safe work environment for our employees. After months of hard work we have been successful in obtaining full certification for our integrated ma...nagement system including ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018 & ISO9001:2015. We have also had a few new boat builders join the team, including Tony Dummer, John Bredhauer, Andrew Crosier & our first apprentice Andy Chew. Almost 85 years combined experience in Australian boat building added. While this was all taking place, it was brought to our attention that some overseas companies have been using our marketing and media for their own benefit. We would like to make it clear the Moda Aluminium boats are 100% Australian owned and built in Brisbane Australia.

This uses a high quality marine grade Lenco actuator ram, and we have equipped it with the latest Garmin 8410xsv Multifunction Display linked with our fantastic Fusion Marine Entertainment system. 07.01.2022 Instead of posting finished boats we thought it would be nice to show those of you who arent familiar with welding, the view our tradesmen experience daily through the welding helmet. This is the 8mm keel flat in overhead position, welding to the hull sheets using our Fronius pulse Mig. Definitely not the most enjoyable job in the Qld heat but unfortunately its the most important part of each boat. In each cat hull below the waterline there is approx 200m of welding to be done and 75% overhead...hours & hours of fun! We are fortunate to have some extremely talented craftsman in our team that can certainly lay down some dimes #skilled

Although our hulls feature excellent stability, the Seakeeper just takes it to the next level #dontspillyourdrink Stability at rest wasnt the only highlight, the effects while travelling side on to the swell was amazing, ideal for the deep vee boats. 03.01.2022 Every once and a while we get the chance to build something different. Today we handed over our latest custom build destined for a long trip to Hardy reef Whitsundays tomorrow morning. This 8m vessel was built to 2c survey, customised to suit the clients requirements featuring a glass bottom, diesel jet propulsion, folding transom stairs, folding bowsprit, marine deck cork flooring, awlgrip paint system plus many more cool items. We stepped up the level of detail on this build and had a lot of fun with the challenges of design vs NSCV standards. Stay posted for the next part of this project...it is next level!

03.01.2022 Lately we have had plenty of people asking if we can build NQ/NT style Barra boats and the answer is = Yes we can! Here is one we previously built for good customer of ours Nathan in Darwin, built to his layout design, fitted out with an extensive Simrad package and finished off with the standard Moda finish. 02.01.2022 A sneak peak of our latest addition to the Cat range, filling the gap between large and small. This is the new 30ft Moda C9000, featuring a 2.9m beam for wide load towing, 28 degree deadrise, increased fuel capacity, available in both outboard and inboard diesel configurations. Ready for production December 2018...not long to go!

02.01.2022 While most aluminium builders claim to build to survey, truth is they dont. The current standards required are quite different to the average Rec vessels and can be challenging to build. We are not afraid to push the boundaries with style and luxury when building to the current NSCV standards. Over the next couple of months we will be launching 2 new state of the art commercial vessels set to earn the client an income in the tourism market.

02.01.2022 Busy times at Moda lately finishing off our latest commercial vessel and nearing the completion of another. This vessel has been handed over and already in service on Hardy reef east of the Whitsundays. Built to NSCV class 2C this glass bottom coral viewer has been designed to suit the customers requirements in some of the harshest conditions all year round. The biggest challenges included: shaping to suit a seaplane for transferring guests, keeping birds & weather out & en...abling single handed operation. This build was definitely something different for a change and we are extremely great full to have such awesome clients! Thanks to the team of talented tradesman involved in the project! #skilledlegends
