24.01.2022 COVID GUIDELINE UPDATE! Firstly, a massive shout out to our wonderful clients that adhered to our contactless consults during the lockdown. With lockdown over, we are returning to more normality but ask you to familiarise with the following guidelines we will have in place: - Ring us on 82647111 upon your arrival. Staff will notify you when it is safe to enter the clinic.... - a limit of 1 person will be allowed into the consult room. Other people are kindly asked to wait outside rather than the waiting room where possible. - Please practice social distancing with staff and others and use our provided hand sanitiser. Additionally, the use of face masks are encouraged as per the governments guidelines. - If you would still prefer a contactless consult or collection of items, we will still offer this if requested. - Do not attend our clinic if you are sick or have had contact with anyone that is. Remember to please be patient with our staff under these conditions, we look forward to seeing our clients faces once again.

16.01.2022 Sunday MOOOOO-d The team mixed it up a bit today with a visit to Dr Chelsea's farm Nurse Courtney and Dr Tegan joined in helping de-bud some calves. Debudding is a procedure that allows removal the horn buds before they grow - This means that the cattle will not only be easier to handle as they get bigger, but also prevents injury to themselves and others. ... These adorable babies were sedated and given local anaesthetic and pain relief so that the whole experience was as stress free as possible for them - they woke up quickly and were back to drinking their milk as if nothing had even happened #allcreaturesgreatandsmall #farmlife #modburyvets #loveyourjob

05.01.2022 THE IMPORTANCE OF A CHECK UP! Mia (pictured below) came to see us recently for a check up. While performing Mia's physical exam, Dr Tegan became concerned she could feel a lump in Mia's abdomen. Mia had xrays peformed which determined that the "lump" was actually a growth on the spleen (as seen below). An ultrasound also confirmed that luckily there was no evidence of any other growths elsewhere.... Growths on the spleen can be benign or malignant, and in some instances can rupture and cause an emergency as it bleeds. Therefore, this week the team performed a splenectomy (removal of the spleen) on Mia, to ensure this growth doesnt cause a problem later on. Mia has been recovering like a superstar since and we ask that you keep your fingers crossed as we wait for her results and the rest of her recovery period. #ModburyVets #Splenectomy #HealthCheck
