23.01.2022 A few little snaps of our recently completed Johnstone street courtyard. We will post some before and after comparison shots soon. Overall we simplified the original courtyard and pushed back the turf and garden bed areas while expanding the hard stand areas to maximise the usable spaces of the area. The side utility area is almost maintenance free while still visually appealing. 23.01.2022 Stage 1 completed at Tugulawa Street today which entailed some level changes and new walls to help soften the existing ones when planted out. A quirky little corner arbor and seating arrangement will soon be the conversational piece when we come back to finish off stage 2 where plantings will be encourage to grow over and around the timber structure which will be topped off with a central fire bowl to gather around of those cooler evenings. 21.01.2022 Starting to make some real progress now at Ferguson road with the timber works almost complete.. 20.01.2022 We recently finished the backyard stage of our Ferguson Road project...This once unusable backyard had some serious drainage issues, not to mention the solid rock it sits on and no real level areas.... Taking this all in consideration we designed and constructed a new functional backyard that works with the slope of the land while raising levels to gain much needed new organic soil heights while minimising the footprint that needed to be fixed in the rock subgrade... The dry... creek bed is not only a feature to this rustic native design but is completely functional.... All the sub surface drainage is tapped into this creek bed which diverts everything away to the side of the house and out to the street away from the troublesome areas in the past... Look forward to showing off some before and after comparisons of this rewarding design soon... Special thanks and appreciation goes to @bradremfrey_ on this one who went above and beyond once more, sometimes working by himself while we were down on troops and taking it all in his stride...
