23.01.2022 SWIM WRAP: Defending men’s national champion Rhys Lanskey (QLD) had a great swim, clocking 2:06.45 for the 200m, just shy of his personal best to start competit...ion at the National Championships in Brisbane. Genevieve Van Rensburg (NSW), had the second quickest time of the day. Her 2:22.09 was a solid swim for the talented 16-year-old, who is contesting the U17 Tetrathlon. Defending women’s pentathlon champion Tully Watt (VIC) was just behind Gen in 2:23.63 with Nikita Mawhirt (WA) a close third in 2:27.80. Tully and Nikita have both arrived in good form and will battle it out for the open title today. A fantastic effort from Nikita who has only been back in full training for six weeks following a long injury recovery. Other strong swims in the morning at Sleeman Centre came from 14-year-old Tom Langdon (QLD) in 2:31.40 and 16-year-old Grace Healey (VIC) in 2:33.68. The 23 competitors at the 2020 National Championships in Brisbane have completed the swim and are now preparing for the fencing.
