12.01.2022 This week the Kindergarten group have been working on our scissor skills, we have been encouraging the group to participate in many different forms of cutting including with playdough. Today the group used their scissors with paper that had different lines on the page, we focus more on the grip of the scissors that being able to cut along the lines. We have had lots of improvement over the last week and the group should be really proud of themselves!

11.01.2022 Weekly Music Program with Hey Dee Ho! This morning our Kindergarten children combined with our Dolphins and had Miss Harmony visit us from Hey Dee Ho. For a change of scenery we had our lesson outside. We did lots of singing while using our finger puppets and musical instruments. It was great to see all of the children participating in this music lesson.

06.01.2022 Welcome to our Ice Cream Shop With the wonderful weather, we decided to set up our ice-cream shop in our cubby house. The children all worked together with bringing out all of our ice cream scoops, cones, cups and utensils. ... They were very helpful with putting up all of signs to make our ice-cream shop look wonderful! This provides our children with the opportunity to role play. It allows them to express their ideas in this pretend scenario and continue to build on their language and communication skills.

05.01.2022 Our Quokka Room have been focusing a lot on foot eye co-ordination and balancing abilities. Throughout this focus, we experimented with the new inside and outside balancing blocks.

01.01.2022 This week our Kindergarten Class have been learning about kindness. First, we spoke about 2 apples. We noticed that they looked the same - in colour, shape, size etc. We pretended that both of these apples were children. Now imagine if you were being unkind to your friend, how do you think they would feel? Sad, hurt, upset etc. We then cut the apples in half to compare them. We could see one of them were bruised, which is how we’d feel if someone is being unkind to us. Brui...sed and hurt on the inside. We then related these apples to the next activity of a kindness pie (apple pie). Each child was given a plate and butter knife, where they had the opportunity to practice their chopping skills. They cut the apple pieces into smaller pieces, which we later added to our pie. All of our ingredients included: Friendly and helpful, sharing and caring, smiles and laughter and encouragement. We all took turns mixing all of our ingredients together and laying down the sheets of pastry. Look at our final result - Kindness Pie! Yum! We’ll enjoy this for afternoon tea.
