24.01.2022 JobKeeper v2.0 Extended to the end of March 2021 - To continue after 27th September businesses will need to show a 30% downturn in the June & September Quarters. ... - To continue after 3 January they will also need to show a 30% downturn in the December Quarter. - From the 28th of September those continuing will receive two payments: Employees working up to 20hrs per wk - $750 Employees working more than 20hrs per wk - $1200 This is based on hours worked in the 4 weeks prior to the 1st of March 2020. This will also apply to sole traders and business owners. There will be alternate tests for businesses whose turnover last year isn't easily comparable to this years turnover. (ie new businesses or those that are growing substantially). There will also be alternate tests for employees whose hours worked in February weren't usual. There is also Qld Government funding available up to $20,000 for starting a new apprentice or trainee employed after the 15th of July (so not eligible for JobKeeper) or under the continuing Back to Work scheme as well. 09.01.2022 Important budget snapshot, if you are saving for your first home, I highly recommend getting onto Stacey Hart from Evolve - Loans. Super. Insurance and trying to secure one of those spots in the first home saver scheme. Instant asset write off now unlimited extended to 30 June 2022, but remember your luxury car tax limits and have a chat to your Tax Accountant before you hand over the cash!
