24.11.2021 People always tell me I should write a book. My life is literally THAT ridiculous. Good ridiculous and bad ridiculous. All sorts of ridiculous. I thinks it’s my knack of turning my daily disasters and mothering wins and woes into funny, sarcastic, relatable and laughable anecdote. 12 months ago, I nearly lost that knack. And as it turned out that knack was pretty much just a smoke screen for not dealing or facing emotions that were coming in thick and fast. It was suffocating.... It effected all aspects of my life, my family, my businesses, my soul. It nearly broke me. actually, it did break me. I was a thousand messy pieces and for a long time I struggled to put them back together into a form that resembled a functioning member of society. Let’s just say, a beautiful mess. This is easier to stomach than the actual three headed beast I was I became a passenger in my own out of control life. I wasn’t making decisions and plans, I was floating, allowing, ignoring, hiding, drowning. I wasn’t jumping out of bed with my usual FTW #bossbitch attitude and making shit happen. I was faking a smile, just getting by, not being PRESENT. I was enduring the toughest time in my personal life ever, I was trying to keep my children safe, grounded and ‘normal’, I was trying to set up a new home for us, trying to find normality and calm in the chaos. Everything was on me, after all, I am mum, I am business owner x 3, I am taxi driver, I am personal chef, I am protector, I am provider, I am entertainer, I am personal stylist, I am wearer of many many hats. And it’s EXHAUSTING! 12+ months on, I am still trying to find balance, but we are making progress. Which brings me to the long and drawn out meaning for my post it’s been a tough road, I’ve driven the ditches of hell but I’ve also climbed some beautiful mountains, and now I’m back! I’m ready, I’m eager, I’m determined, and I’m renewed! This long road with pretty shitty scenery has brought me to a fork in the road, I could choose to walk away or I could choose to grow.
