25.01.2022 Do you think this kitchen gadget might encourage extra help with the food prep? It's kinda cute ;-)
24.01.2022 Had so much fun playing french cricket at the park with the kids this weekend. Funny how the simple things are often the most fun.....
19.01.2022 We're having a 'did that really just happen!' moment: Miss Four, when presented with her options for lunch, stormed off and slammed her bedroom door. Her first door slamming/more sophisticated tantrum. Might have been our first insight into the teenage years (arrgghhhh)! ;-)
18.01.2022 We found this awesome astronaut bedding set this morning. What little boy could resist! :-)
16.01.2022 We've been waiting all year to share this with you! This makes me cry every year :-) We promise you won't be disappointed if you check it out.
11.01.2022 Does anyone else still make their little ones write thank you cards for Christmas? Miss Four and I have been in battle all day about getting these done. So far I'm winning but her attention is fast flagging ;-) Would love to know if we're the only ones still insisting on this tradition!
11.01.2022 Today I bit the bullet and started a healthy diet - no more chocolate bars at work in the afternoons. DH, when confronted with this startling news, asked if that meant I didn't want M&Ms. He looked devastated when I said I didn't. I can now hear the rustle of plastic and he sneakily eats them in the kitchen ;)
09.01.2022 I'll admit, I'm one of those slight crazies who won't let Miss 4 touch ANYTHING in a public toilet. I just found an online shop that sells disposable toilet seat covers - I bought 100 for $16.50. Couldn't be happier :-) (Yes, yes this is my Saturday night!)
09.01.2022 Always interesting to see what's going on in the world of cloth nappies.
07.01.2022 Did you know that there's a term for adult fans of LEGO - An AFOL This is my parent's lounge room - do you think they qualify for the term? :-) (and don't let them fool you that it's "for the grand kids!")
07.01.2022 We've been listening to a lot of Peter Coombe lately - does anyone else remember him? Miss Four is crazy for his songs! In the main the songs are timeless but I had to laugh at the blank look on Miss Four's face at the song Newspaper Mama - the idea of something being black, white and read all over or of being thrown over the fence into the garden just seemed absurd to someone who watches her parents get all their news from computers, phones, and occasionally Facebook ;-) An interesting little insight into how quickly things change! Does anyone have a favourite Peter Coombe song? Mine's wash your face in orange juice - check out the link :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKuy9vubr0E
06.01.2022 Love this list of vintage baby basics seen posted by Swiss Miss today :-) http://mentalfloss.com/artic//brief-history-7-baby-basics
06.01.2022 We've just had a child-free weekend and I can't BELIEVE what we've fit in! The cars are clean, the washing is done, Easter is prepped...and I fit in a long bike ride. A gal could get used to this! ;-)
03.01.2022 Seems that after a few weeks of us letting Miss Four's maths and writing practice slide due to Christmas that she's forgotten a lot. Back to making an effort to integrate education into play for us! We got lots of duplo for Christmas so we might start with some maths fun using that :-)
03.01.2022 Miss Four has taken a serious interest in flags. So we spent last weekend creating a little set of all the flags in the Pacific region for her to play with and draw. Loving that she's getting interested in some great stuff now :-) I think four is my favourite age yet! Have your kids come home with any random interests? Do you try to encourage them? I'd love to hear what you do to help them learn more...
02.01.2022 Has anyone out there started planning for Easter yet? It has sure snuck up on me! Tinyme have some great free printables so I'm thinking I might start there! Thanks Tinyme :-) http://www.makemytinyme.com/printables/
02.01.2022 The Lemon Tree is trying to get to 2000 likes this weekend - we're a bit late in the weekend to realise but we might all still be able to help :-) Head on over and check them out!
02.01.2022 A while ago we mentioned that we'd just heard of the Montessori method of education. Since then we've subscribed to quite a few blogs to learn more. We promised we'd report back if we found anything interesting and so we wanted to share with you one of the great blogs we've found: how we montessori :-) Happy reading!
01.01.2022 I normally avoid any sort of toilet humour but this took the cake...we've spent all weekend learning about dinosaurs including a trip to the National Dinosaur Museum. Miss Four just came out of the toilet and said in a disbelieving voice "I've just poo'd an allosaurus. It's got the loooongeeest neck!" Needless to say we all lost it ;-) Kids say the darndest things!
01.01.2022 Too cool for school :-)
