24.01.2022 Meet Goldsbourgh, our new home and latest project. The last in the litter, I can understand why people may have been hesitant to take on this property. It was on the market for 11 years before we brought it and it comes with some challenges - uneven landscape, council conservation, to name a few. That said, we have been in this game for 20 years and one of the best things we have learned is this is where we thrive.... Taking on the challenge means we will be more creative in our design, we will be forced to think outside of the box for solutions and we certainly will end up with something that is completely unique. 24.01.2022 #throwback to that time we were the client and we created our dream house, Bluewater. We used elements from our Industrial Soul design guide that we created for our clients. It's got product selections, industrial look and feel inspirations and an overview of how to achieve a similar look. In this home we had just a few things on our wish list We wanted an industrial feel that fostered flexible rooms and communal spaces, provide a private upstairs balcony to take in th...e views, a swimming spot to cool off in the summer, a cool space to entertain (and to hide the mess that comes with entertaining!), a double garage with additional storage and work space area for tinkering. Oh, and don’t forget the indoor garden bed! Not much to ask for hey?! In the end, we made it work and Bluewater was built (with all of the above included). 23.01.2022 We wanted to replicate a relaxed spa experience in this dream bathroom. I had so much fun choosing the interiors for this design. Mixing 3 tile designs, with pattern on pattern was a bit risky, but the bathroom is definitely the area you can ‘play’ most stylistically, and we loved how it turned out. Modern Rustic is open and operating, we still have work and we are still taking on new customers, but things look a little different on site these days. We have always taken safety seriously and we respect the new measures introduced by the government - our team and our client’s safety is paramount. 16.01.2022 Hard work and dedication saw us complete our renovation for @blumarlinbistro in just 10 days! A big shout out to all of our trades who worked so hard and were able to roll with the punches to get this across the line. It was a pleasure! So, what did we do in 10 days? The structure footprint had to remain the same so we focused on bringing multiple textures, a simple colour scheme and light angles to create this look. We designed the tiled counter in order to cre...ate a fluid navigation for the customer. Dark blue was the chosen color for the lofty ceilings to create that intimate vibe and make the white laser cut light shades stand out and cast shadows. We used pressed tin panels and grass cloth wallpaper to create a subtle and modern texture. These are people who have flexed a lot of creative muscle over the years in entertainment and fashion says Berkus. 07.01.2022 Family gatherings during #quarantinelife, anyone? This project was pretty unusual as our client gave us full control over all the selections. We decided on using an incredible 6m long slab of Queensland maple as the bar top and the rest of the design grew from there. Travertine tiles provide a natural, high-end quality, to complement the timber. Piet and I have worked extremely hard to get our business to where it is today and so we are proud to say that we are booked out for the remainder of 2020 and can no longer take on any more projects. We feel very blessed and very grateful to be in this position 2020 has been extremely hard for many people, so to be in this position is very humbling. Modern Rustic is built on creating something different and unique, so if you have a project that you believe can only be built by Modern Rustic then of course reach out.
