18.01.2022 Welcome to 2020, everyone! Peter Cameron has given his utmost support for me to put the call out to all members. Myself and a band of people on Bribie, are making emergency kits for bushfire victims and volunteers. We need your help. Are you able to provide donations? Items needed are :... Snaplock bags (big and small), toothbrushes, toothpaste (mini), shampoo (mini), tissues (travel pack), wet wipes, soaps (mini), face washers/microfibre cloths, lib balm, sanitary pads/tampons, teabags (individually wrapped) cards - with a personally message eg "Sit and have a cup of tea on us and know that we are thinking of you" (this is a great project for the kids to do on holidays. deodorant Please help us any way that you can. Over 7000 kits have been made so far but we need more. If youd like to collect/purchase any of the above items and please give them to your instructor, please. I will then collect everything to put towards the emergency kits. Fire crews are keen to get these packs to those impacted. Wishing you all an awesome year! Lee

06.01.2022 Welcome everyone to 2020. We hope that you have enjoyed your holiday and are excited to get back to class for the new training year. While classes at Ipswich have already commenced, the following clubs start back on:- 20th January - Bracken Ridge & Kallangur 21st January - Murrumba Downs & Redcliffe 28th January - Banyo, Deception Bay & Gladstone... Class times for Murrumba Downs have changed, any questions contact John at [email protected]:- - Tuesday 5:30pm - 6:30pm (Junior Class - 10th - 5th grades) - Tuesday 6:30pm - 7:30pm (Senior Class - 4th grades & above) - Thursday 6:00pm - 7:30pm (All Students) The 2020 training calendar is now available, so be sure to put all the dates in your diary now. Training Camps are the highlight of the training year, and something you do not want to miss. There will once again be 3 tournaments and the usual gradings and weekend training sessions. Forms and membership fees are required to be returned to your instructor by the end of February. The form can be completed on most electronic devices. A typed form is preferred so there are no errors in transferring information. An emergency contact name and number is compulsory for all students and instructors. 03.01.2022 22 March 2020 - Federal Government announcement To all students, parents and guardians It is with great sadness that I advise all classes of Institute of Modern TaeKwonDo will temporarily cease immediately.... As I am sure you are aware, the Federal Government last night banned indoor sporting events from 12pm today. The Instructors and I have been speaking today in an effort to keep classes running, namely train outdoors or larger halls. Unfortunately, it appears the weather forecast for this week is also against us. As a club we decided we should be responsible and do whatever necessary to stop the spread of the virus. This is what all the experts and health officials are saying. Despite the contents of my email from 21 March, this situation is ever changing so we will be stopping classes at this stage. I will send updates but at this stage classes will not recommence until permitted by the Federal Government. We will look at trying to develop some online content during this enforced break. As this becomes available it will be uploaded and emails links sent. Even though we are taking a break, you can still practice your patterns and maintain your fitness using push ups and sit-ups.
