14.01.2022 What will term 4 (next term look like?) Term 4 should introduce a very small amount of new content in comparison to terms 1-3. This gives the children time to process all of their learning throughout the year so far, fill in gaps (if any) within literacy and numeracy, to complete cumulative tasks for work samples (building a portfolio), and lastly it gives children some more time to focus on special interest projects. Term 4's main lessons are offered in activities to choos...e from over the course of the main lesson (Physical, Intellectual, Socio-cultural, and Emotional/Connectedness), with examples for songs, verses, short tasks, and book work. It is much less extensive, and more student driven. Allow students time to move more freely in new directions when they are inspired to do so. Maths and English checklist are revisited and many more activities will be listed within these core skills, so that children can focus on their individual needs. If a child needs to move through to the next year level's skills, (as they are confortable with all skills and can apply them) it is recommended they do. Culmination tasks for maths and English provide a clear end of year sample for portfolios and combine many of the year's skills. The curriculum will obviously cost less for term 4, however I'm available to discuss any work or gaps anyone might need assistance with. I'm excited to complete our beautiful P-3 curriculum soon, and get prepared for year 4-6 (a whole new mind space!) Hayley
