10.01.2022 Last night Councillors endorsed the Draft 2021-22 Council Budget. You can view it online and we invite feedback from the community up until Tuesday 15 June 2021.... At a total of $145.07 million, the Draft Budget focuses on continuing to deliver important services, facilities and infrastructure for our community and containing costs in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic. $43.73 million is earmarked for capital works to replace, renew or upgrade important public infrastructure like roads, community buildings, drainage infrastructure and public amenities. Like many Victorian Councils we’re proposing a 1.5% rate increase in the 2021-22 FY. This is the lowest rate rise this century and will generally represent a minimal increase on most peoples’ annual rates bill. You can help shape the design of this exciting project by completing a short survey at www.mildura.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay before 13 November. Preliminary work will start on site later this month and the main construction is set to kick off in the middle of next year. We know how much the riverfront means to our community and want to give everyone a chance to be involved in this next development, which aims to create a vibrant community, cultural and commercial hub for locals and visitors alike.
