My favourite things about school holidays... ... no kindy drop-off and pick-up! Getting three kids in and out of the car is a mission. 07.01.2022 We have had many new followers lately and since I always love to get to know who is behind a small family business we thought we would introduce ourselves again and share some things you may not know about us, Brooke and Tristan. Did you know...? We started dating in high school, have been together 16 years (half our lives ) and will celebrate eight years of married life next month. ... We have two beautiful boys aged 4 and 1 and will welcome baby no. 3 this winter. We love to travel. We have travelled the world and having a family hasn't stopped us. Whether it is a weekend away at the beach or an overseas holiday we love it all. Both boys went on their first airplane at 3 months old and each have a few stamps in their passports already. Travelling with kids sure does make it a little trickier but the memories are always worth it. We live in Brisbane but it is our dream to one day soon move to acerage near the water. Tristan loves to fish, kayak, play golf and of course build things. Brooke loves to bake, read, drink tea and fill the house with indoor plants. Thanks for following along our Modplay journey. 04.01.2022 First day back at kindy today for our eldest in a month. I love having the three boys together but having them all day every day is hectic. They play together constantly but their play is loud, so noisy, energetic and boisterous. And it just wears me out. ... Kindy days give me a chance to fill our middle child's bucket. He is the child who is our "hardest", he is the one who requires us to dig deep in our patience reserves. And the one I worry about the most. With his big brother around he is loud, rough, doesn't stop and is always trying to keep up, copy and fight for our attention. By himself he is a completely different kid. He is quiet, kind, gentle plays by himself for long periods of time and we have the sweetest conversations because I have time to listen to him without big brother talking over him. I often wonder how birth order affects our children and worry how it is shaping them as people. For the first two years of our eldest's life he had our undivided attention. He was doted on. He still is and being the eldest comes with a lot of perks. Our middle child never had one-on-one time until big brother started kindy and not long after that baby brother was born. There are perks to being the baby too. The cuteness, the constantly being held. I haven't come across any perks to being the middle child yet... Maybe we will have to invent some.
