19.01.2022 A playground built to honour our firefighting heroes... On Thursday 19th December, 2019 we lost 2 brave firefighters in a tragic accident near Buxton, NSW while they fought what was known as the Green Wattle Creek fire. Firefighting is one of the few peace time activities where the characteristics of mateship, unselfishness and care for others truly shines out to such an extent in those that take it up.... When somebody dies protecting and caring for others it rightly evokes a deeply felt reaction of thankfulness and respect that is hard to put into words. Instead the RFS Fraternity and the Buxton Community pulled together and raised funds to build a memorial playground at Telopea Park in Buxton. A place built in honour of the men that died saving the town, but a place of reflection and respect where families can come together and enjoy each others company, even against the backdrop of loss and grief that brought it about. Moduplay is privileged to work with the NSW RFS to design the custom fire truck play unit modeled on the same truck in which the firefighters died. 100% Australian designed and made playground equipment for our Australian heroes. The new playground is now being manufactured in our Wollongong factory.
