25.01.2022 Lion Rob Sharrock had 12 Lion members help sort 4500 childrens books in Lion Margots garage on Sunday 1/12/2019. The members worked for 6 hours sorting. 400 were suitable for recycling, 3800 will be distributed over the next few weeks to local schools . Another 3000 plus books are expected soon.

25.01.2022 March 2020. Lion member John Kerr reporting on the recent corporate barefoot bowls held at the Newborough Bowling. The Lions Club of Moe has supported this event and finished top of the ladder this year. President Celia presented the winners, Grant, Ken, Barbara and Barry with their trophies.

24.01.2022 Looking for Atlases for the Read to Me project. Wandered into the shop, had a chat with the proprietor and you wouldnt believe it, in the back there...... atlases. The kind gentleman gave me 6 free, kept a couple for himself just in case. Indicated he gets a few from time to time.

23.01.2022 The end of the School year tally of free childrens books distributed to 29 Latrobe Valley Primary and Pre Schools stands at slightly over 7200. This service h...as been made possible via an alliance with the Free Childrens Book Charity 123Read2Me and the Lions Club of Moe Free Childrens Book Service. The Primary and Pre Schools that have benefitted from the program include those in Moe, Newborough, Tanjil South, Yallourn North, Tyers, Morwell, Hazelwood North, Churchill, Yinnar, Yinnar South and Narracan. With the possible inclusion of Traralgon Primary and Pre Schools early in the new year the target that the Free Childrens Book Service has set for 2020 is for 10,000 additional free childrens books distributed to Primary and Pre Schools throughout the Latrobe Valley. 17.01.2022 21 Jan 2020, back after Xmas break. On the agenda is the Australia Day Breakfast at Old Gippstown Heritage Park on Sunday 26/1/2020, 8 AM breakfast. Surprise visit from Greg Roulton. Guest Greg Roulton who is from the Maiden Gully Club, Marong near Bendigo. Greg is to commence duty tomorrow at Regional Control Centre in Traralgon he will be coordinating activities in this area with the Red Cross. This is an all agencies Control Centre. Fortunately things have quietened do...wn, but still a lot of work needs to be done. Clearing roads and making sure everyone is being looked after. His Club in the Bendigo area they will be running an Australia Day Breakfast and giving special awards to 4 children. A special luncheon will be given to the Legacy ladies. We have our own Club rooms in the Old Shire Hall and we act as caretakers. We are charged $120.00 per year and we do the upkeep on the building. With the big junior tennis tournament in Traralgon all accomodation has been booked out, so he stopped at the Moe Hotel for tea as the only nearest accomodation was Moe. Greg was invited to join the Lions Club of Moe for tea and the meeting. Greg gave a brief talk on the duties he will be performing from the Traralgon base. See more

17.01.2022 The big bash. A break from cooking snags for the Lions Club of Moe. Crowd of 6180 turned up to the reserve to watch the big bash in Moe. Melbourne Stars defeate...d the Hobart Hurricanes. Saw the first bowled, got video to prove it, then watched the snags cook, turning them slowly. TheLions Club of Churchill was there also selling their wares and assisted the Moe crew by supplying a freezer to store our snags. Lions helping Lions. Much appreciated. See more

Eighteen boxes in this lot with between 65 - 75 per box means between 1170 - 1350 more... free books to the children of the Latrobe Valley. This end of school year shipment is going to Narracan, Yinnar, Yinnar South, Churchill, Churchill North and Hazelwood North Primary Schools and to Churchills Glendonald Park and Hub Pre schools. 05.01.2022 Lions Club of Moe loaned one of our Marques to The Trafalgar Medical centre so that they can triage their patients outside. While at the shed we discovered that someone has removed the screws from the front door and appears to have been checking to see what is in the shed. The generator is missing. Request the public, if out and about, or hear of a stray generator contact police. Thank you.

05.01.2022 4 March 2020. Visitor from WA, son of Moe member Arnold Siinmaa, John. John is a member of the WA Leeming Lions Club and former President. John is reporting on some of the projects of his club. Leeming is a small club, 15 members. Main funds come from BBQs, Lion Mint, Lion Xmas Cakes, wrappings at Xmas in shopping centres. Sponsor Children of courage awards, Youth of the Year. Aid local communities through school programs. John also read the Lions Objects.

No project or activity encroached on each other. The Community annual bonfire is a combined effort. This year to be held on the 16 November in the Services park on Waterloo Road near the Moe Racing Club.
