24.01.2022 A big congratulations to our nurse Meghan who has recently completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. It is wonderful to have another qualified nurse amongst the team who has studied hard for the past 2 years. We look forward to Meghan sharing the latest knowledge and skills from her course with us all

20.01.2022 A little insight into our clinic routine during Covid-19 restrictions. Even though you cannot be with your fur babies while our vets attend to their needs due to social distancing, rest assured they are being supported and cared for by our wonderful nurses during this time. We have allocated a nurse to stay with each pet through their entire visit offering support, gentle pats and words of encouragement while we attend to their needs.

20.01.2022 With the winter weather settling in, unfortunately so are pests such as mice and rats. It is tempting to reach for baits but these can pose a large risk to our family pets. Rat baits contain chemicals that are very toxic to pets but often the signs do not show up straight away. The signs generally take between 48-72 hours to show up and can include the following: Pale gums Weakness and lethargy Bleeding from the nose or mouth... Coughing Bruises on the skin A blood test is often needed to diagnose the condition and treatment with an antidote given. In severe cases a blood transfusion may be needed. If not detected and treated, poisoning can sadly be fatal. If you suspect your pet has had access to rat bait this is considered an emergency and you should call the clinic 51273511 for urgent veterinary treatment. See more

18.01.2022 This year has been challenging for us all and the veterinary community has witnessed the importance of the human animal bond to support us during lock-downs and all that 2020 has thrown at us. Our team has worked tirelessly to support our patients during this time and we would like to thank everyone for their patience. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful growing team of vets and nurses who have experienced one of our busiest years. The greatest lesson that 2020 has taught us is that we are all in this together

17.01.2022 Happy half year birthday to Bentley who is 6 months old today. He was such a good boy today spending it with us to have his cast changed. Bentley broke his leg earlier in the year and has been a superstar as he works his way through the healing process

16.01.2022 Exciting times ahead!! Since owning Moe Veterinary Centre for the last 2 years, we have been steadily working on renovation plans to give our clinic a complete face lift. Patient care and providing an exceptional level of service to our lovely clients is forefront in our minds. Our clinic on Lloyd Street in Moe has been as it currently stands since 1995. In this time, the practice has seen growth and development to offer a much boarder range of services to many more pets and... livestock than ever before. Our team has expanded significantly too. All this has meant we have outgrown the humble building and need to expand and modernise to make sure we can keep up with improving standards and provide the best service into the future. We now have our plans completed and are ready to start the exciting part: the build! Our plans include: expansion of our consulting space, doubling our surgery space, new cat & dog wards, an enlarged waiting room, and a complete modernisation of all areas to a gold standard hospital level. During our renovations, we will continue to offer veterinary care from our clinic, working around the renovations as different sections of the building are completed in different stages. We ask for your patience during this time, as we do our best to work around the trades. Some things to be aware of: -There may be more noise in the building than normal. -We may need to see your pets in different rooms or areas to where we would normally consult. -At certain times we may not be able to accommodate horse consultations at the clinic as our back car park may not be available. -You may find that when booking in for non-urgent appointments or surgeries we may have extended wait times. Remember, you can book online for routine vaccination appointments. More urgent appointments are best booked by phoning the clinic on 03 5127 3511 - If you require medications dispensed, there may be up to 24 hours wait time. Medications are best requested via email to [email protected] with your animals' details so we can have them ready for you. We will be working hard to still take the best care of your pets during this time. Thank you in advance for your patience during this exciting time. From Drs Laura & Stuart, and all the team at Moe Veterinary Centre.

10.01.2022 It was hugs all around when we had a routine visit from Griff today. For those who remember our post about Griff earlier this year after he was bitten by a snake. Only a baby at the time he had intensive treatment including antivenom and ventilation (the vets helped him breathe) throughout the night. Even with this treatment, the venom took a toll on his body, and he had a real battle to recover. He struggled to eat and had to be fed very carefully to avoid choking. After 14 days in hospital he left the clinic with a tail wag & stolen hearts of all our staff here at the clinic. It was great to see him again. Such a healthy, happy boy
