25.01.2022 Update: Not taking bookings Back to UniUpdate: Not taking bookings Back to Uni
24.01.2022 I am no longer offering any coaching/KaHuna services as I am now pursuing my nursing career. However my passion to support women on their journey of self discovery is still present. So whilst I am not offering any physical services, I will still share my experiences and insights. My page - Finding Me with Katie Crews will now be a a way for me to share my experiences and encourage other women to follow the path of self discovery. We all have challenges and obstacles to ...overcome, the human journey is a wild one. Our stories are our medicine, and by sharing our stories we help each other along the way. So jump on over if you wish to continue walking with me
23.01.2022 KEY TO YOURSELF As our isolation roles on, we all have more free time to contemplate ourselves and our place in the world. One of my favourite books is called Key to Yourself by Dr Venice J Bloodworth. I have studied and used this book to assist with my personal development, healing and growth.... So each day this week I shall share a small section of her book for you to consider and apply to yourself if you wish. When everything seems out of our control, we must turn our focus inward
21.01.2022 >> JUST DO YOU << In life, you will..... Change your mind.... Change careers. Change friendship circles. Change the way you see yourself. Don’t get caught up in judgement, don’t let other peoples perception of you change your progress. Other people will not understand the decisions you make and why you made them, because they are not living your life. International women’s day is a day to remember that you are UNIQUE. Today is a day to acknowledge what you have accomplished, what you have overcome and what you are creating in your life. Celebrate yourself and the women around you, even if you don’t understand why they do what they do.
19.01.2022 == FOLLOW THE CALL == As a holistic therapist for women I have helped them navigate their wounds, emotions and challenges to find a path back to their truth. All the while I do that very same thing for myself. I am constantly learning and constantly growing, healing and changing as are you. ... I have learnt there are my plans, hopes and dreams and then there are God’s plans. Resisting this is futile. I have learnt the fastest way to peace, joy and happiness is to follow your heart. The more we resist, the more we suffer. So the last few years have seen many changes in my world. Plenty of suffering, resistance and growth. The way out of suffering was to follow the call of my heart. Where it has led me has been life changing and joy filled. Yes, there are challenges........ but I feel at peace (most of the time). So next week I begin my Nursing Career as an Assistant in Nursing. I have one more semester of Enrolled Nursing and then I can pursue a position as an EN. After that I have more plans and dreams, however it’s best not to get ahead of myself. So for now my service will take a break. How long, who knows. But I encourage you to follow the call of your heart......new adventures await.
19.01.2022 >>> PERSONAL GROWTH <<< Growth doesn’t just happen.....resistance creates suffering. The greatest shifts and changes in my life have come from setting clear intentions, taking positive action and feeling it all. ... Most of the human journey will about understanding your feelings and emotions. If you can learn to do this and embrace the feelings and lessons, you set yourself up for greater success, happiness and contentment. Resistance = pain & suffering Acceptance = healing & growth
19.01.2022 >>> BACK TO UNI <<< Well I am back into full time study and drowning in assessments. I have cleared my booking calendar and will only be taking clients by request, depending on my schedule. I look forward to seeing my regulars and will still be offering workshops and healing circles.
19.01.2022 >> TRUST << Life will always give you opportunities to be fearful. The challenge is to find faith and courage. Trust. It is so important, now more than ever t...o trust that something bigger than we can imagine is happening. Trust that you are safe, each moment choose to support yourself and the people around you. This too shall pass
16.01.2022 Bring Me A Higher Love I am creating a theme song for this year!! With everything that is unfolding of late and the manic fear that is happening, I think we ...need a song to bring us back to reality. We need a HIGHER LOVE.....for each other, this situation and ourselves. So when you feel stressed, an urge to buy mass toilet paper or hide your family away from the world. STOP ..... and sing with Whitney!! Such a great song for these times. This too shall pass.
16.01.2022 Great advice from Xavier Rudd...... Follow, follow the sun And which way the wind blows When this day is done... Breathe, breathe in the air Set your intentions Dream with care Tomorrow is a new day for everyone, Brand new moon, brand new sun So follow, follow the sun, The direction of the bird, The direction of love Breathe, breathe in the air, Cherish this moment, Cherish this breath Tomorrow is a new day for everyone, Brand new moon, brand new sun When you feel life coming down on you, Like a heavy weight When you feel this crazy society, Adding to the strain Take a stroll to the nearest waters And remember your place Many moons have risen and fallen long, long before you came So which way is the wind blowin', And what does your heart say? So follow, follow the sun, And which way the wind blows When this day is done

15.01.2022 My grandmother once gave me a tip: In difficult times, you move forward in small steps. Do what you have to do, but little by little. Don't think about the future, or what may happen tomorrow. Wash the dishes.... Remove the dust. Write a letter. Make a soup. You see? You are advancing step by step. Take a step and stop. Rest a little. Praise yourself. Take another step. Then another. You won't notice, but your steps will grow more and more. And the time will come when you can think about the future without crying. - Elena Mikhalkova (Image of Tasha Tudor, American Illustrator 1915-2008)
13.01.2022 DAY 3 KEY TO YOURSELF It is always good to challenge our own beliefs and perceptions. Nothing is ever black and white. By learning to question what we think, we create space to grow. Book by Dr Venice J Bloodworth for your contemplation.
11.01.2022 Purpose always trumps panic! If you are not dialed into your purpose, the path of least resistance will be panic. That doesn’t help and it feels like crap. Here...’s a few thoughts on unapologetically rooting into your purpose right now! 07.01.2022 DAY 2 KEY TO YOURSELF As promised another snippet of the book by Dr Venice J Bloodworth for your contemplation.
05.01.2022 "Papatnuku Mother Earth In Mori tradition, Papatnuku is the land. She is a mother earth figure who gives birth to all things, including people. Trees, birds and people are born from the land, which then nourishes them. Some traditions say that the land first emerged from under water.... Creation story In the Mori creation story, Papatnuku had many children with Ranginui, the sky father. Their children pushed them apart to let in the light. The children had more children, including birds, fish, winds and water. They became the ancestors of everything in the world today. Stories of the land In some tribal stories, humans were born or made directly from the earth. There are many stories about people and the land. In one story, the lakes of the Southern Alps were dug out by Rkaihaut, an ancestor of the Waitaha tribe. Many places are named after people’s actions, or parts of their body. Whenua the placenta Whenua, the word for land, also means placenta, the organ that nourishes a baby in the womb. Islands are seen as placentas from Papatnuku’s womb. Traditionally, when a baby is born, the placenta and umbilical cord are buried in a special place. People who have authority over an area of land are called tangata whenua (people of the land). Women and land Women are associated with the land, because the land gives birth to people, and so do women. In tribal history, women have had influence over land and men. Whakapapa Whakapapa is knowledge about the world. It includes stories about ancestors, and explains the origins of fish, birds, trees, rocks, people and all other things. Trangawaewae a place to stand Trangawaewae means a place to stand, where a person feels strong and at home. A person’s trangawaewae may be their marae, a mountain or river. Loss of land Much tribal land was lost in the 19th century, against the will of the tribes. Because of this, many people felt they had lost their sense of foundation and stability." https://teara.govt.nz/en/papatuanuku-the-land
05.01.2022 >> PASSION & PURPOSE << Are you passionate about your purpose?? Since the birth of my second son I have been passionate about empowering women. What a journey it has been. ... Highs and Lows. Lessons. Surrendering. Ego. This article was published back in 2014 for my work as a Doula and advocating for women. It popped in my memories today, reminding me of how my work how progressed. What I realised, I am happier with a purpose. I found what I was passionate about and made it my purpose. Your purpose will change as you change. But if you are passionate, if it makes your heart sing...... YOU CANNOT GO WRONG.
04.01.2022 Whilst you have some downtime, I highly recommend this book
03.01.2022 >> TRUST >> Do you trust that the path has been laid out before you, and even though you can’t see it? All that matters is you take one step at a time. ... Trust is a very big part of the human journey. We must trust ourselves, trust the people in our intimate lives and trust the society around us. One thing I have learnt on my journey to finding myself, is trust. Trusting myself to know when to stop. Trusting myself to know when to pursue something. Trusting myself to know when to rest. Trusting myself to know when to push forward. The last few months I threw myself back into my business with passion and excitement after a long dark night of the soul. However now I’m back in full time study, I find the only way to maintain balance is to pull back from my work once again. I’m learning to trust the ebb and flow. Trusting that my clients will be there when I am ready to work and understanding when I am not. Trusting that I have been called onto a path with a vision bigger than I can see. Each day is an invitation to trust, are you willing to accept that invitation?
