18.01.2022 ** Nowruz is coming** Handmade Haftsin ceramic dishes Workshop Do not miss out on the chance to make your own function clay Haftsin dishes with Dr. Mojgan Habibi at Merewether, Newcastle. You will create Unique and personalised Haftsin dishes. The most prominent symbol of Nowruz (Persian New Year) is called Haft Sin table. Haft Sin in Farsi means the seven S’s which is seven items which their name in Farsi start with the letter S. Each item represents an important symbo...l of life. Do not worry if you have never worked with clay before, this is a teacher lead class and Mojgan will be there to help and guide you through the entire process. The workshop will cost $85 includes all materials and firings for each three-hours class. We only have 6 places to comply with COVID-safe rules for each class. The workshop will involve the making and the painting of your object, we will be using special paints that go directly onto the clay. After the workshop you will leave your objects with us for approximately 2 weeks. The work will dry and be bisque fired in the kiln, followed by a second glaze firing. Then come in and collect your finished pieces. You can have up to 7 fired ceramic size by 17Cm.
