24.01.2022 We provide quality dental services for you to achieve the perfect smile you've always wanted.

24.01.2022 Do I need Cosmetic Dentistry? That’s a difficult question to answer because as mentioned, no two patients are alike, hence it is tough to quantify what needs you may or may not have. However, you can assess whether you would make a likely candidate for Cosmetic Dental Treatments by asking yourself some of the following questions: - Are you embarrassed by the appearance of your teeth to the extent that you subconsciously cover it whenever you smile, laugh, talk or eat?... - Are any of your front teeth missing? - Are you showing too much gum when you smile? - Are your teeth crooked, misshaped, stained, protruding or gappy? - Are the size, length, colour or alignment of certain teeth disrupting an otherwise proportionate looking smile? These are some of the most common issues that our Cosmetic Dentistry customers bring to our attention. If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, you can have the assurance that you are not alone and that we have helped many people in a similar situation address their problems with beautiful results. To find out how Cosmetic Dentistry can awaken the Beauty of your Smile, call our friendly team at Molonglo Dental Surgery on 02 6287 1222.

24.01.2022 Did you know this about your teeth? The enamel on the top surface of your tooth is the hardest part of your entire body. The human mouth contains more bacteria than there are people on Earth. Tastebuds have a lifespan of about 10 days and take about 1 to 2 weeks to regenerate.... The tooth is the only part of the body that can’t heal itself! Don't forget to brush your teeth! :)

19.01.2022 Good oral health habits start early. Tooth decay can start as soon as the first tooth appears, our easy to follow tips will help create healthy habits in your children's lives. Two minutes twice daily Brush your child's teeth twice a day - in the morning and just before bed. Spend 2 minutes brushing, concentrating a good portion of this time on the back molars. This is an area where cavities often first develop. Take turns brushing with your child, as she may want to help.... Choose the right toothbrush Choose a small, child-sized, soft-bristled toothbrush. Soaking the brush in warm water for a few minutes before brushing can soften the bristles even more. Replace your brush regularly Replace the toothbrush every 3 or 4 months, or sooner if it shows signs of wear. Never share a toothbrush with others. Prevent cavities After your child is 6 years old, a fluoride rinse can help prevent cavities. Ask your dentist which product is right.

11.01.2022 The chewing process, also known as mastication, is the first step in your digestive process one you don't want to rush through. Chewing breaks your food down from large particles into smaller particles that are more easily digested. This also makes it easier for your intestines to absorb nutrients from the food particles as they pass through. Research presented at the 2013 Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting and Food Expo in Chicago showed that when participants chewed almonds longer, the smaller particles were better and more quickly absorbed by the body.

08.01.2022 How to Know If You are in a Dental Emergency Not every dental situation is a true dental emergency. To determine the severity of your dental problem, ask yourself the following questions: * Are you experiencing genuine, severe and sustained pain? Intense pain is a major warning sign of a true emergency. * Have you lost a tooth? If so, this is an emergency, and if you act fast, you may be able to save it.... * Are any of your teeth loose? This is something that should never happen to an adult. * Do you currently have an infection? A serious tooth infection or even an abscess can potentially be life-threatening. * Are you bleeding? 06.01.2022 Smiling Elevates Mood Next time you are feeling down, try putting on a smile! There's a good chance your mood will change for the better. 03.01.2022 How Safe Is Fluoride for My Child? Fluoride is safe for children. Fluoride is a natural mineral that protects and strengthens the teeth against the formation of cavities. Your child's pediatrician will offer application of a fluoride varnish starting at age 6 months to help protect your baby's teeth. If you need advice for your child's dental care, we are here to help! Call us on (02) 6287 1222 or visit our website molonglodental.com.au to book an appointment!

02.01.2022 Why is Dental Floss important? Flossing contributes to good dental hygiene because it lifts and removes plaque and food in between your teeth. Brushing also removes plaque and food debris, but the bristles of a toothbrush can't reach deep in between teeth to remove it all. Therefore, flossing helps keep your mouth as clean as possible.
