08.01.2022 Two stones, two stories Here, a morganite & a spinel, sourced as potential engagement ring stones for a very special someone. Morganite was first discovered in Madagascar by Tiffany & Cos chief gemologist, George Kunz in 1910. Morganite is renowned for its blush hues, from ballet pink to peach. Spinel first appeared in the record books in 14th century Spain, but flew under the radar for centuries as the stones were often mistaken for rubies. The Timur Ruby, a 350ct (!) cen...trepiece of Englands Crown Jewels, was found to actually be a spinel in 1851. Spinel come in a range of colours, from deep rose to moody blue. Were enamoured with this particular emerald stone: a bewitching lilac hue, soft as a watercolour.
