23.01.2022 Start of day three of the Renters build, don't think it will be finished by the end of the day.

19.01.2022 "Northgate House aka ACACIA" revisited, what a grand old lady, how's those casement windows and all those glass louvers enclosing the verandah

18.01.2022 The real Renter is based on the scale model Renter.......or should that be the other way around

17.01.2022 Almost got the Renter built in three days, just a bit of weathering to do, should be ready to rent shortly, the 2 bedroom fibro cottage is only $580 p/w or air bnb for $3200 per night, not sure about the rush job on the painted galvanised iron roof, you can just make out the curtains, I'll post a close up pic later

14.01.2022 The Renovators Delight is still blanketed in snow after last night's fall

11.01.2022 So this is how I plan to do the curtains for the Renter, I got a piece of tissue, crumpled it laterally then laid it out and sprayed it with clear coat so it dries hard, I can now cut individual tiny pieces and glue to the back of the windows, it might be a bit of effort for no result or it might turn out great and having me wished I'd added different colours to the tissue/curtains, we'll see

11.01.2022 Great amount of progress on the Sovereign Hotel today by the lads, they've knocked off for the day and are now going to the pub for a couple not realising they haven't finished it yet

09.01.2022 The builders Mr Bill Callaghan and his assistant Mr Sam Mayer have been busy constructing Mowbraytowns biggest project to date, the Sovereign Hotel will be the largestandbest appointed hotel this side of the river. A licence was granted to Mrs Margaret Wallace in May and work on the new building started immediately, the builders even stopping construction of the retail building to concentrate on getting the hotel built asap, the hotel is situated on the corner of Paradise Ave and Skyring Tce, the two storey brick building will feature a bar, lounge, dining room, parlour, 12 modern serviced bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Construction is progressing through the cold of winter with completion eagerly anticipated by those who like to "wet their whistle"

02.01.2022 With the protesters chant, "save our historical loo, people will have, nowhere to poo....save our historical loo, people will have, nowhere to poo!!!" ringing in the background, the Keen Brother's called off their enormous demolition excavator and shut it down, saving the toilet block for another day, unfortunately three protesters fell through the asbestos roof and two other's fell down the ladder, but all in all it was a great outcome for the Mowbraytown community.

02.01.2022 Gave the Renter a dusting of pastel chalks, you can see the brown stain on the rear steps and the mouldings covering the fibro sheet joins to make it look old and weathered, still not totally sold on the roof, you don't normally notice the roofs on real houses because you're looking from below, different with the models because you're looking down onto them, the curtains turned out OK, wish I had have painted the frames white now.
