20.01.2022 Introduction to the UnderScore is on today, 3-6pm. Please remember is a lock-out event we will close the doors at 3pm sharp. During the first hour, we will discuss the graphic symbols she has created "to capture the spirit or energy" of what she has observed as underlying and constant. The remaining two hours, will be dedicated to dancing and experiencing the Underscore itself. We invite all dancers, regardless of their experience of the Underscore, to come to this introducto...ry session to either learn the structure or to revise and deepen your understanding. Its a series of classes offered by Caterina Mocciola with the support of Momentum In Sydney! Five weeks to delve into Contact Improvisation, flowing with the rolling point of contact, spiralling through moving bodies, reaching through limbs and establishing a stronger connection to the core. Classes are open to all levels. We recommend for continuity of your practice and study of the form to attend the full series of classes, however this is not compulsory. 07.01.2022 Wed Feb 8th Focus Jam in preparation for the official beginning of classes on Wednesday nights. What is a focus jam?... A focus jam is a time to investigate the dance form through a particular lens. A strand of the form receives our attention. At these jams participants are welcome to embrace the focus introducing attentiveness into the room. Its our desire to have jams that are a forum for investigation following the true spirit of contact improvisation and we borrowed the format of the focus jam from Boston that borrowed it from Buenos Aires. The focus for this jam: Bring your mystery score! To stimulate personal research and curiosity come to the Focus Jam with something that interests you at the moment, something you can play with, you might want to share with other. As you all know, it is very important for the practice itself to create a container and a group mind that we all share and take part to right from the beginning, please come on time!...
