Even before this pandemic, many were losing business to Amazon and other interna...tional e-retailers (Wiggle, Cotswold, Trekinn, Surf/Snow Dome etc). Shops are now empty, workers have been sent home, and cash flow is drying up. At the same time, retailers still have bills to pay, inventory to move, and payroll to meet. We all love our local gear shops. They are the lifeblood of outdoor recreation at the community level, providing everything from expert advice to gathering places for our fellow adventurers. Without them, the outdoorsand our lives as lovers of the outdoorswould be vastly different. Right now, these independent specialty retailers need your help. Keeping the lights on requires help and if you're not needing gear today how about buying gift cards. Like a cash advance, visit your local retailer's website and offer these funds as a credit against your own future purchases. Buy gift cards for yourself, your friends, as birthday or graduation giftsanything. It's a small act, but for your local shop, it will make all the difference. And at some point, you will need a new jacket, a new pack, or a new water bottle. Remember that one person’s wages are another person’s revenue and around and around we go. Support the businesses you feel are worthy of support. If you don’t....Amazon and the EU E-Retailers might be the only choices you have next year. 15.01.2022 Ive been missing the gyms the last couple of weeks. Plus all my training friends and social catch ups. So great to see the ingenuity of climbers training where ...they live, its keeping me motivated and creative to change set routines. Love it keep it up. UC's online training is awesome! Everything hurts... However I wanted to encourage everyone now they are out of the gym to clean and maintain their kit, especially your shoes. After a long hot summer, my shoes are mank! Improving hygiene of you shoes & feet (as well as hands) will reduce germs and bacteria in our gym environment. They will smell better, fit better, provide better friction and last longer if they are clean. Here's a couple of dodgey clips me and Tobes shot today to give you some tips. I try to wash them twice a year. Warm water. Little laundry soap. Lots of undulating and a sponge job. Hang in shade to dry. Hopefully we we can all get back to the gyms again soon. A fresh start with clean holds, clean hands, feet and shoes will mean more happy climbing. Plus a new appreciation of our community and great venues. See more

They are yo...ur lifeline indoors and out for climbing. No time like now to give it some & TLC. Check out your rope manufacturers particular instructions. Lots of good content online and talk to your local climbing store. Rope cleaning greatly improves the handling, performance and longevity of your cord. Here are 3 options. 09.01.2022 Ok, so it is ridiculously cold today! Winter has hit and with that in mind I am very proud to announce that our Heat The Homeless campaign is back for its 5th s...traight year! Over the last four years we have collected over 20,000 warm winter jackets for our friends on the streets and this will continue this year. The legends at XTM have organised for all Annaconda stores and many other stores to be drop off points! You can check this link for a full list of stores: https://xtm.com.au/heat-the-homeless/ WE ARE JUST ACCEPTING WARM JACKETS. Please make sure they are clean before taking them into the stores. We are not accepting anything other than jackets please. This year, we will also be helping those who lost their houses in the bushfires and decking them out in jackets as well! So, what’s your in cupboard that you no longer need? A ski jacket or a warm winter coat that could use a new home?! If you bring them in we will redistribute them to those that need them most!
