25.01.2022 For us, animal welfare comes first. We’ve just installed a security camera to record everything that happens on the shearing board. Having zero tolerance for rough and unacceptable behaviour, we can hold shearer’s accountable for the great work they do when they pick up a hand piece. First cab of the rank was crutching our pet sheep, the only sheep that will willing walk out the pen.
25.01.2022 Our grape grades have come back and it’s safe to say we are over the moon. Even though our vintage was very light this year the quality of the fruit was fantastic. Blocks 3 & 4 made I3, this is our second best grading we have ever recived after making penfolds grange in 1995 and 1996. 21.01.2022 Always on the search for the latest animal welfare innovations, this year we used numbnuts at lamb marking. Even though it isn’t cheap we believe animal welfare is invaluable. Numnuts is a targeted anaesthetic that is given when rubber rings are applied. Not only does it eliminating pain, it also means the lambs will mother up quicker and continue to eat and drink as normal. 06.01.2022 The end of this pruning season brought up 20 consecutive years that Jan (right) has been pruning for Monapilla Estate. The meticulously attention to detail with his pruning is a massive contributing factor for growing high quality fruit. It may take him 3-4 months but it’s certainly worth it. When he’s not pruning for us he is the head umpire for Australian tennis and in his down time he travels around the world, what a life hey! We can’t thank him enough for being such a fantastic pruner but more importantly, an even better bloke.
