21.01.2022 Received through correspondence, the following. Please be advised, today the Victorian Government announced that Metropolitan Melbourne will return to stage 3 restrictions for six weeks from 11.59pm, Wednesday 8 July. From this time, all Active Monash facilities will close until restrictions are eased.... While this is disappointing, the health and safety of our community and staff remains our top priority. We continue to encourage our community to follow government advice on how we can help stop the spread! To remain active, we encourage our member’s visit our Active at Home and Virtual Timetable for workouts and classes you can follow while at home. Monash Council is continuing to monitor the situation and will keep our community updated through our website, emails and social media. If you have any questions or need some assistance, please contact your local facility or email us [email protected].
21.01.2022 Advice to all shedders who visit this store locally. Dear John, We are writing to you to make you aware that we have been notified that 2 team members in our Woolworths The Glen, Glen Waverley store have tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).... We were notified on 14th August 2020 of the first team member, whose last shift was 8th August 2020, from 7:30am to 4pm. On 17th August 2020 we were notified of the 2nd team member, whose last shift was on 13th August 2020, from 10am to 5pm. The team members have received Department of Health advice and are following isolation requirements. As a food retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place, and in addition to these high cleaning standards the store had a detailed deep clean overnight on 14th August 2020. The wellbeing of our customers, team and communities is our highest priority, and in line with public health advice, we are taking all necessary steps to ensure ongoing safety in our stores. If you have been shopping in our store since 8th August 2020 and become unwell in the next two weeks please contact the Department of Health hotline on 1800 020 080 or visit the Coronavirus (COVID-19) information website at health.gov.au. For further updates please visit our website. Thank you for your continued patience and support. Your Woolworths Team
20.01.2022 With the current lockdown restrictions look out for the Monash Mens Shed news channel on YouTube. Check it out next week. I have seen a preview, it is not to be missed....!
18.01.2022 Greetings Both premises of the Monash Men’s Shed are now ready to reopen within the scope of the government occupancy space and social distancing limitations. The doors will open to members at 9.30 am. on Monday 8 June and on each weekday and Saturday thereafter.... A team of members have the workshop cleaned, disinfected and ready to operate as normal. There will initially be a limit of twelve occupants in the workshop area and a further six permitted in the adjoining rooms. (Train, Paint Metal and Office etc,) plus the person in charge in that building. The Bogong Hall has also been prepared for use. All bench-tops, table-tops, switches, tap-ware etc have been disinfected, kitchen and toilets are all thoroughly cleaned, and the main hall area has been swept and mopped. There will be a limit of twenty occupants in the Bogong Hall. Posters highlighting covid-19 safety procedures and social spacing limits are displayed in both halls. Hand sanitiser, cleaning cloths, paper towels and disposable cups are all available and handouts explaining changes that have had to be made will be distributed. The initial Boss Cocky roster has been arranged and we also have a list of volunteers ready to take on that role shortly. Sincere thanks are due to all who have helped us in overcoming the obstacles that the enforced lock-down imposed upon us. Committee of Management Monash Men’s Shed

17.01.2022 People living in metropolitan Melbourne have now been wearing masks for one month. Mask-wearing was enforced during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic too, but many ...refused, citing the government mandates as threats to their civil liberties. As the Spanish flu swept through the US, face masks became ubiquitous to help in preventing the spread of the disease, much as they have today during the coronavirus pandemic. Let's keep wearing mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Thank you to everyone doing the right thing!
