25.01.2022 Excited to be back from sabbatical. Very thrilled to see our Mimaki 3D printer doing a 109 hr print of ‘buster’ one of our most famous prints in the Monash 3D human anatomy series. It’s doing it in one piece and it almost looks like we are printing real humans, very surreal.

14.01.2022 The new Biomedical Learning and Teaching building is nearly complete. Handover is Nov 19. The transition to the new teaching labs will be exciting and challenging but it’s a once in 50 yrs experience. Here are some pics to wet your appetite

13.01.2022 Oh and look at how the new biomes teaching and learning building has come on in 4 months... looks amazing.

12.01.2022 Just 3D printed a really cool thing. A yr 5 Med student upon my suggestion found CT angiography data from a patient with an A-V fistula in her arm so I can explain to my students the use of these in dialysis patients. Michelle Quayle, our technician extraordinaire then made the data suitable for printing in our Mimaki printer. It’s slightly shrunk to save costs but this is one of the coolest things we have ever printed . I put a print of one of our dissected prints alongside to help show anatomy of the veins.

11.01.2022 Teaching at Gippsland today. Would not ask students to do anything I would not do myself.

11.01.2022 Last body painting session with med 1 class. Also tried my new AR App to capture this arm. Cool

10.01.2022 I held this fossil tooth in my hand - it is around 2.5 million years old and from a fossil hominid from South Africa . It's the oldest such fossil in this country and is on loan with others for research being conducted by Dr Justin Adams and Dr Luca Fiorenza. Amazing to think it came from one of our ancestors - how cool is that?

09.01.2022 Here are some pics of our new decals on the doors of the labs in the lower ground of the new BLTB. There are no anatomy labs in the world like these.

07.01.2022 Had 300 Med students vibrating their torch against their eyes to get the entoptic phenomenon. Looks like an Adele concert. They all thought I was taking the p...s - until they saw their own retinal vessels!!!!

07.01.2022 Having fun creating art installations for the new BLTB out of microscopes destined for the graveyard!!
