25.01.2022 Introducing our 2020 CAS President Bella Oates!! Loved by all of CAS and Monash almost as much as we love her mum. Renowned for hosting the best house parties in Melbourne and hosting even better CAS events!! I got hooked on cas the moment I arrived at cas camp in my first year. I met some of my best friends I’ll hold onto for life and have loved every second of being part of such an amazing team. We’ve worked really hard the past couple of years to make cas the best club it can be. Being part of a club that fosters such an inviting community has given me so much happiness and it’s been so special to be apart of

23.01.2022 We are very excited to present our first ever Careers Book to you in collaboration with Monash University’s Arts Faculty and Career Connect! As the year 2020 draws to an end, many of you may be considering embarking on internships, fitting in work experience, thinking about your future career path, or even what subjects you’ll be choosing next year. This book will help you navigate the rest of your arts degree, inspire you to consider the impact you can make on the communit...y and what you can do with your degree in the future. Over the past few months, the CAS team has been busy interviewing prominent arts alumni in your same boat not long ago and how they managed to navigate the workforce, lead successful careers, and make tangible changes in their communities. We would like to congratulate you on finishing a tremendously challenging year of studies and hope that while you consider your future options, you find this book valuable and inspiring. We welcome any feedback you may have and wish you good luck in the rest of your studies at Monash. Check it out: https://issuu.com/caulfieldartssoc//arts_careers_book_2020 See more

22.01.2022 As a Monash Caulfield Student, you are automatically given the right to choose who you want to represent the students for the Caulfield Student Union. MONSU elections are coming up. In order to be able to vote you MUST REGISTER TO VOTE BY 5PM TONIGHT! It’s super quick and easy to do.... Voting is important!! As much as it may seem like it’s not a huge deal, the people who represent the students are the ones responsible for all the positive changes you see on campus. All the free food drives for struggling students, changes to the way the University is run (anything you complained about with online learning that got fixed? That was because of the student council) and even events which have been run in past years. Who you vote for will affect your university experience dramatically!!
21.01.2022 Hey everyone!! Hopefully the start of the year is treating everyone well and online classes haven’t provided too much of a challenge. However for some of you, this won’t be the case, and that’s ok. You still have time to drop, swap and add units or even defer the semester all together. Some of you may have heard of the CENSUS DATE. This is date, set by the government, is your last chance to make changes to your units without receiving any sort of penalty. Normally for seme...ster one it’s the 31st March, but lucky for us it’s been pushed back to 14th April this year. If you drop units before this date, you won’t be charged for them, and they won’t appear on your academic transcript, meaning they’ll have no effect on your WAM or GPA. There’s no shame in doing 3, 2 or even 1 unit if you’re struggling. Here at CAS, we’re big believers in putting your mental health before anything, and if that means taking a bit of work of your load, it’s definitely good to consider. If you’re having any difficulties or have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us or MONSU Student Rights & Support (https://www.monsu.org/srs/). For more information visit https://www.monash.edu/enrolments/dates/census Much love, CAS
18.01.2022 Are you career motivated and love to travel? Partnered with SAS and Artbound initiative, we’re bringing you an event to help you prepare to intern abroad in 2021!! Can’t wait to see you all there!!
14.01.2022 Today is National R U OK day- which promotes awareness of mental health and encourages you to reach out to your friends, family and community. In the current unpredictable and challenging climate we find ourselves in, it is so important for you to make sure you are keeping in touch with your loved ones and asking them if they are OK. Tips on How to Ask: 1. Ask R U OK? - Mention things that have made you concerned for them, such as ‘You seem less chatty than usual. How are yo...u going?’ 2. Listen with an open mind - Encourage them to explain how are you feeling about that or how long have you felt that way. - If they don’t want to talk, don’t push them 3. Encourage action - Ask what have you done in the past to manage similar situations, how would you like me to support you? or when I was going through a difficult time, I tried this You might find it useful too. - Encourage them to see a health professional and perhaps assist them to find the right person to talk to. 4. Check in - Call them every couple of weeks. If they’re really struggling, follow them up sooner. - Ask if they have found a better way to manage the situation. - You could say: I’ve been thinking of you and wanted to know how you’ve been going since we last chatted. Your active conversation could save lives. You don’t need to be an expert- just a good friend and a great listener. Take care, reach out and stay safe x https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask https://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com//RUOKDay2020_GuidetoSu See more

02.01.2022 Hello everyone!! We’d just like to clear up a bit of confusion about our CAS camp. Some of you may have been notified by Facebook that it was happening today, and we’d like to confirm that that obviously isn’t the case. So don’t worry you haven’t missed out on our awesome camp!! CAS Camp for 2020 was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID, however we’re hoping to postpone it to early semester 1 of 2021!! We apologise for any confusion which may have been caused. It’s extremel...y tough for everyone being isolated without peer interaction at the moment, so we promise to provide double the fun in 2021 to make up for all the lost time this year. We sincerely hope everyone is staying healthy and happy during this time. Much love from CAS
