21.01.2022 This week is DonateLife week, an excellent opportunity to discuss organ donation with your family and friends. Due to the impacts of COVID-19, organ donation an...d transplantation has slowed down significantly this year, and if youve considered organ donation in the past but havent registered as a donor, its more important than ever to do so. In 2019, 1,444 Australians received a lifesaving transplant due to the generosity of 548 deceased organ donors and their families. But not everybody who registers to be an organ donor can give the gift of life to others when they die. Only around 1,300 Australians about 2% of those who die in hospital each year can be considered for organ donation. By registering to be an organ donor, you have the chance to save lives. It only takes a minute and all you need is your Medicare card. To learn more about organ donation: https://donatelife.gov.au/

17.01.2022 Medicines Australia is seeking Australias support and calls for calm by advising that there are no anticipated shortages of medicines as a result of COVID-19 a...nd no need to stock up with more than their usual supply of medicines. They welcomed todays announcement by the Government to ensure continued access to medicines by reinforcing limits on dispensing certain prescription medicines and other pharmaceutical products such as Ventolin and childrens Panadol to address unnecessary panic purchasing at community pharmacies. Under the new restrictions, pharmacists will be required to: limit dispensing of certain prescription products to one months supply at the prescribed dose, and some over-the-counter medicines (i.e. Ventolin) to a maximum of one unit per purchase. be strongly encouraged to limit dispensing of all other medicines to one months supply or one unit. place some over-the-counter medicines i.e. childrens paracetamol formulations behind the counter to assist in allocating supply equitably. They added that COVID-19 is an emerging situation and one we may be dealing with for some time. Prudent management of our medicines supply now will assist in the long-term maintenance of our supply chain. If you experience any issues please contact your CF Centre or CF organisation. We are happy to help to get things sorted.

10.01.2022 Were asking a lot of Victorians right now and I want to thank you all for your patience and willingness to get on board with these changes. I know people hav...e a lot of questions about what is and isnt allowed. Ill do my best to answer them. But the main point I want to make is this: The aim of Stage 3 restrictions is to limit the physical contact we have with each other. To slow the spread of coronavirus and to save lives. And it requires all of us to listen to the advice, follow the rules and use a bit of common sense. What we dont need is people looking for loopholes so they can keep doing whatever they want and carrying on as normal. If you dont absolutely have to go somewhere or see someone or buy something dont. Stay at home. Treat it as a matter of life or death. Because it is.
09.01.2022 Following the latest COVID-19 advice, we have made some restrictions to patient visitation at Monash Childrens Hospital. Thank you for your help in protecting our community.

01.01.2022 We spoke with some of our dedicated healthcare workers who are on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic about how theyre feeling and what the community can d...o to help them during this challenging time. Brendan, Intensive Care Unit Nurse, Monash Medical Centre. Its worrying to see other countries as medically advanced as Australia really struggle with the virus. It will be a very challenging time especially at the growing rate for Australia. Its always a thought when caring for COVID-19 positive patients that you might risk of becoming one yourself. We have to treat this virus with extreme caution because we dont know exactly how much of an impact it can have on life as we know it. We arent asking for a lot, just stay home, stay safe and look after each other. Read more from our inspiring employees here: https://bit.ly/3dN9CJt
