22.01.2022 With the Prime Ministers latest announcement, we are left with more questions than answers. We will continue to follow the official channels, rather than relying on print and social media as our news sources. These are the official media release pages that we are reading and following: https://www.pm.gov.au//early-childhood-education-and-care- https://www.dese.gov.au/news/coronavirus-covid-19 https://www.education.gov.au/childcare-FAQ... Once we receive enough information to make informed decisions we will contact all our families who have been enrolled with us as at the 17th February.

20.01.2022 We understand that some families have been unsuccessful in obtaining the ACCS. Community Child Care have notified us that this is going to be discussed at the Cabinet meeting on Friday and are lobbying for changes, particularly the income testing at this difficult time. We will continue to keep our enrolled families updated with any information or changes as soon as we receive them.

20.01.2022 Unfortunately the Budget announced last night has not been kind to our young children’s future. No Commonwealth Funding commitment for 4yo kindergarten after 2021 No interest or investment in funded 3yo kindergarten.... No changes or investment in early childhood education and care, including child care MCC will continue to work with our peak bodies to advocate for better outcomes for all children living, learning and playing in Australia.

15.01.2022 "While our researchers conduct their experiments at Clayton, budding young scientists at the Monash Children’s Centre embark on their own early learning journey next door. We speak to centre educator and sustainability officer Melanie Paice about her work at the centre, and its nature play and sustainability programs, which included a recent tree-planting day at Clayton campus." 14.01.2022 This FREE download book about COVID19 seems geared for 4yo and up, but certain pages could easily be explored with younger children. The pictures are very diverse and inclusive which is a joy to see! https://nosycrowcoronavirus.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/Coro... This digital book was produced by Axel Scheffler, The Gruffalo illustrator. He worked with consultant Professor Graham Medley, two head teachers and a psychologist to make sure the book got the messages right, answering questions about quarantine, how you can catch the virus and what happens if you get ill.

01.01.2022 A new Australian App has been developed for families to provide ideas of developmentally appropriate activities which can easily be introduced and revisited at home. The app allows you to enter in your child's age and asks about some goals you may wish to work on with your child. It then provides activity ideas which reflect those goals. The app is a free download from the App Store or Google Play. https://www.brighttomorrows.org.au/
