22.01.2022 It is International Clinical Trials Day today! At Monash Clinical Research, we celebrate the importance of clinical trials in advancing new treatments and providing quality healthcare options for our patients. As many people living with chronic pain know, current treatment options don’t treat all types of pain (sufficiently). This is a key reason why we need research to find new or better treatment options! You may be wondering, what exactly is involved in a clinical trial?... Taking part in a clinical trial can help to determine if a new drug or device works to relieve your pain, if it is safe, and/or if it is better than existing treatments. Participation is entirely voluntary, and we have a dedicated clinical research team who tend to and care for participants through every step of the process. Participants regularly see their doctor for scheduled visits through the duration of the study as our priority is ensuring participant safety. We are currently running clinical trials investigating: chronic low back and/or leg pain, acute radicular leg pain, and chronic arm, shoulder and/or neck pain. If you would like to learn more and/or participate in one of our studies, please get in touch with us on our website at http://www.monashcr.com.au/.
