24.01.2022 This Perioperative Nurses Week is a looking a little different in the workplace than most years. We are all in masks and we are all distanced from each other. Even though we can't have a morning tea like we normally would, to reflect on and celebrate the amazing contribution of our nurses, we have at least kept one ritual the same- decorated cookies for all our staff. It may not be the same as sharing a laugh over some cake and a cuppa but we make do and find other ways to celebrate! #PNW2020 #melbournelockdown #wearamask

21.01.2022 A new spinal cord stimulation system is being released following the study on its 3-Month Data being presented at the 2021 North American Neuromodulation Societ...y Meeting. The advantages of this device are its miniaturised design and lack of implantable battery as battery is supplied externally. Dr Bruce Mitchell was the lead investigator on this study and Dr Dan Bates and Paul Verrills were also involved in the research. 14.01.2022 By now, you've heard the news that Melbourne is back into lockdown. In line with DHHS regulations, we will be contacting all patients who have procedures scheduled next week to inform them if they should expect any changes. If your procedure is maintained, we ask that there are no visitors and that patients are dropped off and picked up at the front door. All who enter the hospital will be screened. The pre-operative process includes strict COVID-19 assessment - social distan...cing must always be maintained. We understand that this is not ideal and attending surgery alone can be a nerve-wracking experience, our nurses and staff are there to provide you with the highest level of care and support possible. Also, we want to reassure you that Monash House Private Hospital fully complies with the latest infection control standards and has advanced infection control processes in place. It remains a safe place for pain-related procedures. Thank you for helping us keep our community safe. https://www.monashhouse.com.au//safety/coronavirus-update/

13.01.2022 With further reductions in Victoria's COVID-19 cases, we have again changed our testing criteria in line with current DHHS recommendations. Please find our updated testing requirements in the picture below. Patients are required to self-isolate after testing and before their procedures if falling in either of the two categories listed. Nb. the anaesthetist will assess and contact patients deemed high-risk to give ample time for testing to take place.

13.01.2022 Are you an RN with leadership skills? Are you passionate about your work and have the ability to motivate your team and lead by example? Are you looking for a role that offers career progression? We are currently recruiting for a Pre Admissions Nurse Lead, for more information and to apply, visit: https://www.seek.com.au/job/50648646

12.01.2022 Due to the recent COVID outbreaks in NSW & QLD, Victoria has implemented a new permit system for all domestic travel into the state. To ensure the safety of our staff and patients, we will be following the traffic light system which is outlined at: http://ow.ly/QJEx50D86qs Please note that ALL interstate patients will be required to apply for a permit (apply through link above) to travel to VIC and receive care at MHPH. Upon receiving their permit, they must send a copy thr...ough to the admissions team at [email protected]. All permits must be valid at the time of travel. Due to the rapidly changing situation, interstate patients need to be made aware that their appointment may be cancelled at short notice. Any patient deemed to be a close contact with someone who has or is suspected of having COVID-19 will be required to have their appointment rescheduled until they have been given clearance from DHHS. If you have any questions please contact your doctors rooms. Again, we want to remind everyone that we remain open and look forward to seeing you soon!

06.01.2022 Perioperative Nurses Week is from the 4th-10th of October! This is a time for us to celebrate the wonderful achievements of our perioperative nursing staff. Perioperative nurses provide care for patients in the period prior to and right after surgery or intervention procedures. This week we are honouring our perioperative nurses and paying tribute to them as a key part of the surgical team!

01.01.2022 We are so pleased to announce that in line with the DHHS recommendations, COVID-19 testing is no longer required pre-admission to the hospital from Monday the 30th of November (next Monday). Patients booked in will be contacted regarding these new processes. To avoid confusion: Patients who are booked for next week and have already been instructed regarding COVID-19 testing will still be required to have a test with a negative test result regardless of this new update Pa...tients who are no longer required to have a COVID-19 test and have already done so will still be required to self-isolate and have a negative test result prior to admission We are so proud of Melbourne at this time and it's so exciting finally seeing some liveliness flood back into our streets! However, we must still remain vigilant so that we can continue to enjoy this freedom, which is why we will still be doing temperature checks and assessments of symptoms related to COVID-19 prior to entering the facilities.
