17.01.2022 Introducing the First Ministry Strand Speaker Alan Lau (some of us have seen him last year via Zoom) Alan is married to Karen Wong with two children, Lynn and Ryan. He was born in Malaysia, however, due to his love for analyzing, Alan decided to pursue a university degree in Chemical Engineering from Adelaide. This year marks the 7th year Alan is in full-time ministry. He currently serves as the Minister in Charge in CityLight Methodist Church, Melbourne. Alan has also been... appointed as CMCA Youth Director starting the year 2016 until now. Alan's goal is to nurture Christians to become people who will keep the Lord’s commandment: Love God and love your neighbors as yourself. (Matthew 22:37-39). Regarding Alan's Ministry Strand: Jesus gave us the great commission to make Disciples of all nations. Before becoming a leader ourselves, all of us must have experienced what it meant to be lead by others. For this ministry strand, we will be looking at 1 Timothy 3 to see what Paul had to say regarding church leadership. What are the main criteria to become a spiritual leader? What are the responsibilities of a church leader to his/her church? How to develop leadership skills effectively? Looking forward to meeting everyone in fellowship at this upcoming EEU Conference. Finer details about the hosting church in each state will be released shortly! This year, we are aiming to have bible strand happen in Mandarin for the very first time! This will only happen in the city of Adelaide, but we endeavour to try to organize more Mandarin strand sessions in other states too in the future EEUs!
