21.01.2022 Meet Francisca part of our MNM Social Media Ambassador team. Francisca is looking forward to sharing with you her experiences and journey at Monash Nursing and Midwifery and the Clayton Campus. "Hello! My name is Francisca and I'm in my first year studying the Bachelor of Nursing. I have just completed my first placement recently, which was a fun and memorable experience. For me, the best part of studying nursing at Monash is having the opportunity to attend placements, starting from my first-year. Placement is a good learning opportunity, as I can apply into practice what I have been studying in class, and have an overview about nursing jobs and the work environment at hospital." . #mnm_sma #nursingstudent #mnmstudent #monashnm #monashclayton

19.01.2022 Nadya, nursing 1st year student and MNM Social Media Ambassador, shares with us her tips after an ‘unusual’ first year studying from home. As a first year nursing student, studying online may be challenging as it is somehow self-paced and requires good time management skills to keep up with studies. I have found that Nursing has lots of interesting human anatomy and pathophysiology knowledge that may be overwhelming if study time and methods are not well managed. I have foun...d these study tips to be helpful when studying Nursing online (currently to the pandemic and still can apply when learning on-campus) : 1 Make your own planner You can either obtain planner templates from youtube or pinterest or even make it by yourself if you would like to be creative! Having a planner really helps with keeping things on track and organized, so trust me it really worths a try! 2 Organize your study space Find yourself a comfortable spot (of course not on the sofa or bed), where you would not usually play in. Try to find a spot where it engages you to study mood and away from distractions. 3 Alternative ways to memorize knowledge Nursing contains lots of anatomical and pharmacological knowledge and would be fun if you find a different way to memorize rather than trying to let everything stick in your head! Try sticking them on to a peg board or anywhere you can see everyday. It really just takes a peek everyday to memorize 4 "Just 10 minute" trick I found this one to be quite useful to stop procrastination. I usually tell myself that "I will just do this for 10 minutes". However, as 10 mins passed by, I get to be in the study or focus mood where I would then finish my task. Sometimes it doesn't work for once, so just tell yourself to do another 10 minutes and stop yourself from putting too much thought on wanting to relax or just stop. Keep going and you will find yourself doing a lot and being productive in a day!! I hope these study tips may help you to study! Not just studying the knowledge, but also to enjoy the process of learning! . #mnm_sma #nursingstudent #mnmstudent #nursingeducation #monashclayton #monashnm #monashmnhs See more

08.01.2022 We continue our introductions to some of our new Social Media Ambassadors. Hello to Sharna a Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery (Hons) student who has nearly finished her 2nd year. Sharna will be sharing stories about her time studying at Monash Nursing and Midwifery with us all. "Hello, my name is Sharna and I am 25 years old. I am a young mother of two girls aged 3 and 4. I fell in love with the career when I witnessed my youngest brother being born in 2011. Watc...hing the midwives show love and empathy along with strength and resilience towards my mother was something I will never be able to forget. My favourite part of studying at Monash this far is being able to go back to the hospital I birthed my two daughters at and work alongside both the midwives that assisted the birth of my babies. I had the coincidence of being the primary accoucheur for the first time in the room I birthed my 2nd daughter in. Being able to now go back relive some of my most cherished memories and help many other women through life changing events is something I do not think I will ever be able to get over. My favourite thing about studying the Nursing and Midwifery coarse at Monash is being able to have educators that generally care about my individual needs and will do anything to answer all my questions and help me to reach my fullest potential. I am so grateful to be part of a wonderful community at Monash Peninsula and I cannot wait to keep growing and working towards my dream of becoming a nurse/midwife." . #mnm_sma #nursingstudent #studentmidwife #mnmstudent #monashnm #monashpeninsula See more

08.01.2022 Study/working from home is something we've all had to get used to over 2020. New MNM social media ambassador, Jaspreet shares her experience - "Studying from home hasn’t been the easiest, it’s natural to lose track of tasks and fall behind. To avoid that I have been making sure my desk is always tidy, not too cluttered and making daily to do lists. I also use a weekly planner to make sure I attend all my classes and it helps me keep track of my deadlines. Keeping a bottle of ...water on my study table is also very essential. Studying anatomy is hard especially when we couldn’t attend our practical classes, but the teachers were amazing at our online revision sessions which I found very helpful. With the exams approaching I decided to print out pages where I was struggling and put them up on my wall- I consider this is a great way to memorise bones and muscles by seeing them over and over as well as identifying them on myself and my family members." - Jaspreet . #mnm-sma #mnmstudent #nursingstudent #nursingeducation #monashclayton See more

02.01.2022 With all our students completing assignments and end of year exams, our MNM Social Media Ambassadors have been sharing their tips and advice. Here Maegan who has nearly finished her second year of the Bachelor of Nursing gives us some festive spirit and tips . Studying for end of year exams can be crazy with Christmas round the corner and summer weather sometimes it can be hard to concentrate. I’ve found using Moodle slides and diagrams in my notes can be very helpful when consolidating complex concepts such as coagulation medications. Using colours to link theory to diagrams helps me too. Happy holidays everyone let’s get through exams and enjoy our summers! . #mnm_sma #nursingstudent #mnmstudent #monashnm #monashpeninsula
