19.01.2022 Go, Team Girls! Pony Club Australia has jumped on board with the Sport Australia 'Team Girls' initiative announced this week - and we want your help. It's all a...bout encouraging girls and young women to take up or continue being active - and Pony Club does that well, so let's show Sport Australia how we do it. Look at some of the great role models for girls - the late dual gold medallist Gill Rolton, Olympic and World Cup showjumper Edwina Tops-Alexander, and Hazel Shannon (28) who is the first rider ever to win the Adelaide International Three Day Event three times. Here's some things you can do to enjoy your sport and show Sports Australia it's not just all about girls' netball, swimming and football (although we are hugely proud of our women's soccer team who will host the World Cup here in 2023.) ** And one lucky contributor will win a new PCA polo top! 1. Compile a video message encouraging young girls to get involved, or return to, our sport - and we will share it far and wide including on our website. 2. Send us or post a photo of a younger YOU in the comments and tell us why sport has been important to you. 3. If you are 18 or over, sign up for the newsletter and get the latest tips, toolkits and articles from Team Girls. (Great for clubs too). Visit Suncorp's Team Girls hub at: https://www.suncorp.com.au/abou/partnerships/teamgirls.html 4. In the Comments, finish this sentence: "I love sport because it’s given me..." (For example - confidence; friendships; self-esteem; leadership skills; goals; resilience ....) 5. Remember to use #TeamGirls in your responses. We look forward to seeing your work. #teamGirls #sportaustralia #alifewithhorsesstartshere #ponyclubproud #activeponyclub Photo: Yorke Peninsula PC members (SA)

15.01.2022 It's PCA Crafty Tuesday and now that coats are shedding we thought you might like to make a scratching post for your horse. All you need is a brush, broom head ...or even a doormat and something solid to attach them to. You can tie large broom heads to trees with twine for a quick, temporary set up (handy if you agist) or get to work with hammer and nail for something more permanent. Remember not to attach the scratchers to something you don't want your horse to bend, or anything where your horse might get their tail or legs caught (so avoid fences, gates or shelter/stable walls). Show us your scratching posts below! #horse #enrichment #coat #shedding #handy #buttscratcher #grooming #welfare #craftytuesday

15.01.2022 We all had a great July rally last Sunday, very fortunate to be able to hold our rally before lockdown! Melbourne gave us a typical winter’s day, but it was so good to see all our members take it in their stride and continue with their lessons without complaint. We had a very busy day, with five groups and lots happening! There were some wonderful achievements by all members with plenty of smiles and fun! It was lovely to welcome some of our new members and their families to ...the club. A big thank you to our fantastic instructors who taught on the day; Rachael L, Rachael C, Libby, Jess, and Paige. Thank you to everyone who helped with set up and pack up

04.01.2022 Thank you to Horseland Ringwood for their amazing donation to our September Rally Activities. Well done to all the members who entered and congratulations to the winners.

03.01.2022 And this is just for starters! What is number 1 on your list? Please share this post to your local horse and sport groups so we can let everyone know about the ...benefits of being a Pony Club member #memberbenefits #alifewithhorsesstartshere #insurance #coaching #equitationscience #tradition #exchange #certificates #progressive #structured #fun #recreation #competition #clubs #centres
