16.01.2022 Researchers in the Physiotherapy Department at Monash University are seeking healthy women to participate in a study to explore the pelvic floor muscles using Ultrasound. We are interested to explore how muscles in the female perineum (external pelvic floor) can be examined using an external measuring method: transperineal ultrasound. Who can join?... Women who: - Have never given birth - Are 18-30 years of age - Are pre-menopausal - Understand English What does it involve? A pelvic floor muscle assessment (lasting up to 100 minutes) involving: - Questionnaires (can be done ahead of time, online) - Pelvic floor muscle assessment by a female pelvic floor physiotherapist - Ultrasound examination by a female sonographer Where: Monash Health in Clayton, Melbourne Participants will be reimbursed for their travel and time with free parking at Monash Health, Clayton and a Myer gift voucher.
