24.01.2022 On the 18th June 2010 - Allen met Massimo Monchiero at the Brisbane airport for the very first time. The Monchiero harvesters had been working in overseas orchards such as Walnuts, Hazelnuts and chestnuts - but they had never seen a Macadamia nut. Massimo was on his way to Chile - so he decided to 'call into' Australia and see a few Macadamia orchards - to make sure the machine would work in our 'Australian' orchards. After Massimo visited many orchards - we all came to the... conclusion that the machine would work - deciding to buy the first ever Monchiero harvester in Australia! 21.01.2022 In 2016, we thought we would be a sponsor at the Apple Conference in Batlow, in May. Monchiero harvesters not only pick nuts up from the orchard floor, they can also pick up apples ( mainly for cider), plums and any other fruit that falls to the ground. Wow....4yrs! 16.01.2022 It has been 10yrs since we first purchased the 2090 Monchiero harvester to use on a farm we were leasing in Gympie! Since then we have sold over 85 machines into 5 different tree crops. We had the privilege to go to Monchiero's 50th Anniversary on 12/9/2015. During this time we have sponsored many "tree nut" events & field days - and we really look forward to supporting all these industries again when all the restrictions have eased. Amazing to think last year we delivered a 2095 to our southern most customers...only a mere 2,700 odd km between them....lucky that Allen can drive, cause bike riding or hiking/walking would take way too long. 03.01.2022 Our thoughts are with our Monchiero family & friends in Italy! Massimo gave us an update of what is happening in his area. Let's hope everyone here in Australia take this seriously so we do not see the numbers they have! As you have heard the situation here in Italy is serious. In our family and in the factory we have not had any infections. I hope it can continue like that.... In Italy we had until now 64000 cases and more than 6000 people passed away. Yesterday for the second day the number of new cases decreased slightly. So we hope we are close to the peak, and it will start to go better. Everything here is closed down, except food retailers, pharmacies, and important things like those. Many companies had to close already 15 days ago. Many more had to close this Monday. But we serve agriculture, so we are allowed to stay open for the moment. We still deliver parts as usual, because we know our customers must work. There are less people at work, because we have to comply with the rules to stay away from other people. We also sanitized everything, and we continue do cleaning and sanitation every day. I hope this will not affect Australia as we had here Regards Massimo Let's all stay safe & stay home if you don't need to go to work or get supplies.
