25.01.2022 Can’t wait to enjoy a beer on our deck looking out over the Gorge
24.01.2022 Those fresh new website feels! We thought we’d update the old girl so that all of those bloomin lucky people hoping to capitalise on the $45,000 worth of grants in Tasmania can find us! If you’d like to discuss a project you’ve got in the pipeline don’t hesitate to get in touch with us here at Mondo.
24.01.2022 The moment you’ve all been waiting for... the stellar ‘after’ shot courtesy of our amazing clients @c_fair @bfair87
23.01.2022 It’s just a fence. Unless it’s your fence on your new block. Then it’s a symbol of the beginning of a very exciting journey. #FYIwebuildhousesnotjustfences
23.01.2022 Hanging out to fling this corner door wide open!
23.01.2022 Working close to home has its perks! A quick lunch date with the family and then straight back into it
23.01.2022 It might be a couple of months until our start date but it’s good to have a spectacular project to look forward to! We’re going to take you on the full journey of this build so if you’re looking for some inspiration that’s a bit out of the ordinary... a bit extra special then this is the build to follow. We’ll keep you posted!
23.01.2022 We keep receiving lots of enthusiastic comments about how quickly the house is going up which is great, thank you for your encouragement! It really is happening at whirlwind speed! But in all honesty it’s an intense and highly unsustainable pace. But we chose this pace and we have our eye on the occupancy prize so we’re doing everything we can to work hard and keep enjoying life in the meantime! ... We want to say a humungous thank you to everyone who is supporting us to achieve our goals right now. We’re beyond grateful and feel very loved! We’ll repay you with coffees, wines and quality time at this glorious abode of ours before we know it. Steph & Mark
22.01.2022 After having a tiny laundry (aka washing machine under our stairs) for the last 6+ years I’m seriously looking forward to a bit more space in the old laundry department! [Steph]
22.01.2022 A deck we finished recently to catch the view from the stunning hills of Trevallyn. Our clients were over the moon, a deck is an excellent addition to maximise the views and it’s hard to imagine there was never one here in the first place! This deck will have our clients basking in the sun pretty much all day. A great job for a great local family
21.01.2022 Mark wanted me to share some of his favourite brick finds with you guys, so here’s ‘Machens’ (the brick manufacturer here in Launceston I believe - too busy to do research right now so if anyone has time go for it!!) and we found two names carved into bricks; ‘Harold’ and ‘Chris’ (which is hilarious because that just so happened to be our brickies name... so it’s kind of like he signed his artwork). But seriously... if you know a Harold from Launceston please ask them if they’ve ever etched their name onto a brick. I’d say ask a Chris but I feel less likely we’ll find ‘the’ Chris... Harold has to be out there somewhere right?! [Steph]
20.01.2022 Time to put the front door frame in. We’ve got a blade of glass down the side of the door which is as narrow as we could get it in order to ensure privacy (because we’re pretty close to the street) whilst also maintaining transparency when seeing who’s at the front door.
17.01.2022 The finished product as promised! These custom stairs were a dream to install, the design came together perfectly thanks to this stunning Tas Oak New build. New stairs. New home by the sea. These stairs lead you up to an amazing view of the ocean! Not a bad worksite at all If you want a house built by the sea just let us know!
16.01.2022 Looking forward to breaking ground on this project soon. How spectacular is that view!?!
16.01.2022 Our clients wanted a paint on render style look to their Easylap cladding, thanks to (Dulux Texture fine coat) and our amazing painter Richard Boon we were able to make it happen!
15.01.2022 Wondering what was going on behind that stunning Tas Oak staircase we built, the one that appears to be floating? Here’s the behind the scenes view. The way the stairs sit off the wall creates a beautiful geometric play of light underneath. The clients love their new stairs. What do you think? ... #webuildfromfoundationtofinishes
14.01.2022 Mark & my Dad working hard to get the garage lined. We’re using ply to give the space a creative feel while also being a robust space with walls that we don’t need to be too precious about. This going to be a workshop from time to time and will also be our family garage which means bikes and scooters hitting the walls. No one wants to worry about that! This is a huge goal reached because now we can get the garage door on. It’s a designer range door and we’re pretty excited ...to see it in place! [Steph]
14.01.2022 Driveway’s in, nothing fancy here because we want the brickwork to steal the show. Also because we want the kids to be able to ride bikes, scooters etc with maximum gliding capability. Very important factor. #concretedriveway #tasmania #tassiebuilder #recycledbricks #fancybrick
13.01.2022 What do we mean when we say we build from foundation to finishes? Well, not only do we build new homes, we have an eye for the finer details that finish the whole build off too. Take this for example, here’s the steelwork coming together for a unique staircase in a new home in Bridport. Mark worked with the client (over coffee of course!) to get the stair design just right. It’s exciting to see it become a reality! Just wait until you see the finished product, you’re going to love it. We’ll share some pictures soon
12.01.2022 Here he is. We’re proud to introduce the infamous Billy Edmunds !! He’s been busy plugging away adding value to the work we do here at Mondo while he learns the trade. He’s 6 months into his apprenticeship and thanks to his prior learning and hobbies in timber work (and his street smarts) he’s a stellar asset to the team. You may have even been lucky enough to bomb a hill on one of the longboards he’s been know to design and make. He’s a fun character indeed but we’ll tell you more about that later
12.01.2022 Deck progress this has been a long time coming.... we can’t wait to open up our corner lounge room to this outdoor space amongst the trees just in time for the cold weather... [Steph]
12.01.2022 The long and winding steel staircase! We do love a good steel fab project! I’m sure you will all agree that this one is both creative and structurally interesting!
11.01.2022 It’s hard to believe we built this extension two years ago! It’s looking fresh as ever tucked away in all that vibrant summer foliage . . . Cladding featured: weathertex finished with natural intergrain oil and painted render.
10.01.2022 Can’t wait for that black epoxy grout to make these squares pop. If you’re wondering where our inspo comes from you might want to google Memphis interior design. Speaking of which... can’t wait to bring in ALL the colours to really bring our interior to life. The goal is for it to be a light, bright, creative and inspiring home. [Steph]
10.01.2022 An interior shot of a recent extension we did matching in new Tas Oak flooring to the existing. It turned out really well
09.01.2022 Opening up this house in prime position to get all that sweet sweet morning and midday sunshine! After adding the deck it’s time to open up the house with an epic corner window. That means a bunch of structural steel. Steel work is our guilty pleasure
09.01.2022 The trusty endless chain made this stair install a breeze
08.01.2022 That’s a wrap! It’s been an awesome year here at Mondo. We’ve had some brilliant projects in some pretty stellar locations (yes Bridport - we’re talking about you), and we’re already pumped for all that 2020 has in store - but for now... we plan to rest up and enjoy the holiday season! Thank you to all of our amazing clients and skilled colleagues for making this such a fantastic year of hard work and stellar finished products Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone! See you back on the tools in 2020
08.01.2022 The recycled bricks on a recent extension. They bring a warm feel with a hint of history. Our clients had a specific vision in mind and chose to hand clean every single brick. Now that’s dedication!
08.01.2022 Garage is just about lined and ready to go fun fact... we’ve actually never had a garage before so this feels very fancy and ‘extra’. If it wasn’t a workshop too I think it’d be hard to justify - I felt silly telling our 2yo that this is the room we keep our cars in. [Steph]
08.01.2022 Driveway under way. Kids are excited for their new bike riding area!
08.01.2022 Kitchen time! Sort of... as you probably know by now we’re big on colour so all our cupboard doors will be painted custom colours at a later date - that can wait until after a well earned holiday. For now it’s primed MDF but we don’t care - we just can’t wait to get occupancy and move our little family in!! [Steph]
02.01.2022 Time for a knock off drink!! It’s been a big day of work here in Bridport getting this build ready for Christmas! . . . #tasmanianbuilder #prouddad #knockoffdrinks #worksitebythebeach #bridporttasmania #builder
01.01.2022 We have POWER people! Thank you @allonelec for making this possible before Christmas. Legends!
